Mini MAC Haul: Studio Finish Concealer and 109 Brush

Hey Loves, I hope you all had a great Thursday. My Thursday was pretty chill. I just did a bit of reading and a lil' shopping at MAC.

Photobucket
MAC Studio Finish Concealer NW30, and 109 Brush

I have never owned a MAC brush and I decided that I must have one! So, I went for the 109 brush. I hear great things about this brush being useful for applying liquid foundations. I tried it out with mineral makeup and I must say it does the job even for that. The bristles are so soft and I am so happy that this is MAC brush #1...I am sure there will be many more to come. I am going to try and get at least 1-2 MAC brushes a month to build up my collection of these fab brushes. Overall, I am super happy with my MAC 109 brush purchase. The very kind MUA at the MAC counter told me that in order to make sure my makeup brushes last forever, I should wash them once a week with baby shampoo.

Also while I was at MAC, I decided it was time for a new concealer to help cover up my very hereditary dark under-eye circles. I decided to go for the Studio Finish Concealer because I hear great things about this concealer being able to cover anything! Including under-eye circles. I also loved the fact that the formula was really creamy, and the concealer contained SPF 35 to protect my delicate eye area from the sun's harmful rays. The MUA tried two shades of this concealer on my under-eye area. She put on NW25 on my right under-eye, and NW30 on my left under-eye. We both agreed that NW30 was the perfect match. She told me that usually most people go for NW25 because of it's peachier undertones which are great at concealing circles, but since this foundation is full coverage she told me that NW30 would be a better match because it looked more natural and blended in more with my skin tone.

Here are some pictures in where I show you the comparison between my eye without Studio Finish Concealer and with Studio Finish Concealer in NW30 with translucent powder on top to set it. I must advise you my eye without concealer looks scary hahaha. You have been warned:

Summer Night Series: Shimmery Dazzle- Silver, Purple, Teal, and Aqua

Hey everyone!

Here is a look I came up with tonight for another installment of the Summer Night Series. This look is super shimmery. I love shimmer, therefore I wear lots of shimmer when I go out at night. I believe when one goes out for a night about the town, you gotta play up your look. Do something daring, and bright. Let the world see you shine! (not T-Zone oily face shine, just shimmery eyeshadow shine...hahaha). I really love how this look turned out, I find that my face just glows. What a difference some shimmery eyeshadows can make huh?

For the eyes I used a white shimmer eyeshadow all over the lid, then on top of the white shadow I added some silver shimmer loose eyeshadow. For the crease I used a purple irredecent eyeshadow and blended it in windshield wiper motions on my crease, taking it a bit above it. I applied a matte highlighter to my brow bone, some Turquoise liquid eyeliner, and an aqua eyeshadow to my lower lashline. To complete the look I added mascara to my top and lower lashes and lined my waterline with black pencil eyeliner, and added a shimmery peachy loose shadow to my inner corners to brighten up my eyes a bit more.

For the face I used Tarte Smooth Operator foundation all over my face and applied it with a stippling brush making sure to blend all over. And last but not least for blush, I used MAC Warm Soul Mineralize Blush on my cheeks.

For the lips, I wanted to make them nude so, I applied MAC Creme D' Nude lipstick, and topped it off with MAC Love Nectar Lustreglass.

Here are some pictures of the look and and the products used listed below. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them in the comments section below loves!

Sephora and Drugstore Haul Product Reviews

Ok loves, as promised here are my feelings/thoughts on the three items I purchased from the post below.

Photobucket
Sephora Flirt-It Lash Duo

1. Sephora Flirt-It Lash Duo ($8.00)
I am no expert when it comes to false lashes. In fact, I have never in my life tried on falsies but have always wanted to try. I spotted these at Sephora and for $8.00, why not practice applying false lashes with these? So I gave in and bought em'. Well, I dont think I like them very much because, when I got home I tried them out immedietley. But to no avail, it wasn't working out. Also, I didnt really like the lash glue because I found that when I applied the glue on the lash, it would dry up immedietley-meaning no room for me to play around and place my lashes where I wanted them placed. I don't know if it was my unexperience that caused these lashes not to work out for me, but I think they are going back to Sephora. I dont't want to dicourage anybody from trying these falsies, but remember this is only MY experience with them. Maybe all of you will have better luck than I did. I suggest trying them out for yourself and see how they work for you. If they do work, please let me know in the comments. I hear great things about ardell lashes and DUO lash glue, which are both found in drugstores. I am gonna keep an eye out for them and try them out.

Photobucket
Sephora Angled Blush Brush

2. Sephora Angled Blush Brush ($28.00)
I noticed that I don't really own a blush brush. I just apply my blushes with big ol' powder brushes (I know, naughty me). So, I decided it was time for a proper blush brush to be added to my family of makeup brushes. I love it!!!! The brush is really soft against the skin and I love the slanted angle shape of the brush because it applies blush preciseley where it needs to go on the cheecks. It is also great for applying a shimmery highlighter on top of cheeks, and for contouring the cheeks as well.

Photobucket
Wet-N-Wild MegaLiner Liquid Eyeliner in 'Turquoise'

Photobucket

3. Wet-N-Wild MegaLiner Liquid Eyeliner ($2.99)
Now I know why this Turquoise eyeliner is so much raved about...It is the most beautiful shade of turquoise (well, it actually leans towards more green than blue) But overall, I love it-it really makes my brown eyes pop. This liquid eyeliner applies smoothly, and easily on my lids. I love the applicator brush because its not really big which allows me to have control when I apply it. Let me tell you all something, this liner lasts and lasts! It does not budge until you remove with with makeup remover. This eyeliner color is great if you just want a fun pop of color on your eyes. Gorgeous! Definite staple for me.

Hello all my beautiful beauty junkies!

I hope you are all having a great Wednesday so far. It's been a tiring morning for me so far because I just couldn't get any sleep last night. I kept tossing and turning...I don't know why. But no worries, I am sure I will get some sleep soon.

Before I head off to bed for the day...hahaha, I wanted to share with you all my little beauty haul from Sephora and Duane Reade. At Sephora I purchased the Flirt-It Lash Duo ($8.00) that contained a full strip of lashes, a half strip of lashes, and lash glue. I also got a Sephora Angled Blush Brush #40 ($28.00). But my most favorite purchase of the day was the much raved about Wet-N-Wild Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner ($2.99) in the color Turquoise. I have been looking forward to purchasing that liner and I am so happy I did because I love it!

I will do a more in-depth review on each of the three items soon. Probably later today or tomorrow for sure!

Do you all like my goodies? Anything you see here that you already have? If so, share in the comments section.

This polish is amazing. I am telling you all, I love Sally Hansen polishes-you can never go wrong with them. And the color pay off is fantastic.

Unfortunately, the Beyond Perfect nail line has been discontinued according to the Sally Hansen website. But they do offer helpful and similar comparisons/replacements to their new polish collections. According to the website, Red Awakening's replacement shade consists of Salon Nail Laquer in the shade "Reddy To Mingle".

Did any of you check out my blog post where I showed you all how cool the Sally Hansen Salon Nail Laquer is? If not then check it out here. In that post, I had my toes painted with the shade "Orange You Cute?"

What are your favorite polishes? Any recommendations? Let me know in the comments section loves.

Product Review: 1 1/2" Sedu Pro Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron

My hair is a real frizz-ball if left unattended. If it wasn't for Sedu, the most coolest, and baddest flat iron ever, my hair would have no hope at straightness.

Photobucket
My Sedu and I

I first saw the 1 1/2 inch Sedu Pro ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron when I was browsing on Folica.com for a new straightner. I was tired of cheap ol' drugsotre flat irons that would never work for me. They would still leave my hair frizzy, and rough. Enough was enough! I was convinced that I was going to go for a Chi flat iron-since they are highly raved about all the time and professional stylists swear by it. But it was the Sedu flat iron that caught my eye.

Photobucket
1 1/2" Sedu Pro Tourmaline Flat Iron

I was reading the customer reviews for the Sedu 1 1/2" iron at Folica.com and I was blown away at how many positive feedbacks there were. There were many before and after pictures of REAL PEOPLE who tried and tested this flat iron, and they were very content with their results.
I wanted to be like those people, and I went ahead and ordered the Sedu flat iron. And I have absolutley no regrets-it probably was the best decision I have made for my hair.

The Sedu flat iron has many features and benefits that will do any and every hair type some good. The thing I love ost about the Sedu is the Tourmaline ceramic plates. The plates are loaded with ion, which help take away frizz and static-resulting in smoother and shinier hair. I am sure most people would love to know that this iron does not pull or snag my hair like others have-major pain!

Photobucket
Sedu Tourmaline Ceramic Plates

The Sedu has an exclusive infra-red heat technology which helps hair seal in it's natural moisture, and heat optimization energy that protects hair from heat damage. I really love the lightness of the iron. Most flat irons that I have tried are super heavy, but not this baby. The Sedu is very lightweight-no joke, sometimes I dont even feel like I am holding anything when I hold the Sedu in my hands.

A great benefit that many may agree with me on, is that the Sedu flat iron contains an adjustable temperature control. It goes from 250 degrees Farenheit to 410 degrees Farenheit. You can make sure there is a comfortable heat seating for every hair type. When it comes to my hair, I usually set it at 360 degrees F or 410 degrees F because my hair is very coarse and frizzy. I make sure to wear heat protectant and I hope you all do too!

Photobucket
Sedu Temperature Control switch

If any of you are looking for a very high-quality flat iron, Sedu is the one for you! I am so happy I got this flat iron because my hair has never looked better. Honestly, other flat irons were damaging my hair, but not this one. The Sedu provides me with everything I need for my hair to look it's best. I blow dry my hair until it is about 95% dry, then I follow by taking sections of my hair and ironing it with the Sedu. My hair has never looked better.

Photobucket
I love my Sedu so much, I gave him a kiss (pardon my Dominican Republic Flag in the background hehehe)

You can purchase the 1 1/2" Sedu Pro Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron here. It retails for $119.99, but you get a free heat proof pouch and free shipping! Great Deal Loves. If 1 1/2" ain't your thing, there is also a 1" Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron available. You can find that one here. And it retails for $108.99 (comes with a free heat proof pouch and free shipping!).

Have any of you tried the Sedu flat iron? If not, what are your favorite flat irons? Let me know in the comments!

Top 3 Summer Fragrances Featuring DKNY, Ralph Lauren, and Baby Phat

Good Morning All,

I hope everybody is having a great Thursday. I love smelling right in the summertime. But my fragrance options in the summer differ from my options in the winter. In the winter time, I tend to lean towards heavy, musky and woodsy fragrances. While in the summertime, I go for fresh, citrusy scents.
Without further aideu, I would like to present to you all my top 3 fragrances that I have been rockin' this summer.

Photobucket

1. DKNY Red Delicious ($40.00-$55.00)
This fragrance really does smell like apples to me! I am not surprised because apples joins the list of notes along with Red Raspberry, Rose, Vanilla Bean, Amber, and many other delicious scents that are sure to please the nose. I love wearing this perfume, especially when I am going out at night. It is a long-lasting fragrance, but I love that it is not so strong where everybody will gag if they get near me ( I dislike when women sit next to me on subway rides, and they are wearing some sort of perfume that is so strong where everybody in the train cart smell it, that I start to get a bit nocious-Not pleasant at all). I definetley recommend this fragrance for the spring/summer months. Oh, and may I also add that the bottle is super cute? It looks like a real apple!

Photobucket

2. Ralph Lauren Ralph ($22.00-$62.50)
Yes, this timley classic fragrance has made it to my list. I remembered always seeing ads for this fragrance in magazines and wondering about it. When I got this fragrance I kicked myself in the head for waiting this long to have it. It is amazing! I love the citrusy, floral, and fresh clean smell I get when I spritz some of this baby on me. With notes of Apple Tree Leaves, Yellow Freesia, Italian Mandarin, Magnolia, and Linden Blossom Flower, this fragrance is all about summer. My only gripe about this fragrance is that it is an Eau de Toillete, meaning that it does not last as long as an Eau de Parfum would last (well, for me that is-other may differ). I recommend this fragrance for those who are fond of simplicity and classics. This fragrance is surely a classic that can do no wrong.

Photobucket

3. Baby Phat Goddess
I love this fragrance because it is perfect for when I go out on weekend afternoons. It is a comfortable fragrance to wear and I am loving the lasting power (it is an Eau de parfum-yay!) I especially love the floral notes of Gardenia, Blue Lily, White Rosebuds, and Cedrat Flower. It even includes notes that I love in fragrances in the colder winter months-Musk, and Exotic Woods. Love! This fragrance is great to wear in the spring/summer months because of its flowery goodness, but it's also a great fragrance to wear in the colder months for those who like their fragrance with woodsy and muskier scents.

My Little MAC Stash

Photobucket

Hey chicas!

I know that many of you love MAC and, I have seen these massive MAC collections that are amazing! I just recently got into buying MAC cosmetics, and while I may not have much items from MAC, I hope to build up my MAC collection because I love everything I have from MAC and I can truly say that MAC is really superb in quality and it truly delivers.

Here is my little MAC cosmetics stash that I have so far and I will be talking a little bit about each one and why I love them.

Photobucket

1. Mineralize Blush in "Warm Soul" ($21.00):
This was my first ever MAC porchase. I remember going into the MAC counter and asking for "Nuance" blush, but the MA told me that it wasn't available so she recommended warm soul to me. She applied warm soul on my cheeks and I fell in love. The color is so flattering on my skin tone. I love that it is sort of a peachy blush with really pretty, fine gold shimmer which makes me glow (in a good way). I always tend to go for peach blushes because I find that they flatter me best. I must advise though, when using this blush it may be best to apply it with a light hand. I applied too much of it once and it looked real silly on me, but now I apply this blush and I buld up the color as I go until I get my desired result.

Photobucket

2. Lustreglass in "Love Nectar" ($14.00):
This is my first MAC lip gloss and I loove it! I wear this all the time because it is so versatile. I wear this by itself, or I layer it over lispticks. This Lustreglass conatins a brush applicator which I prefer over sponge tip applicators, and the color is peachy with gold shimmer in it. I am amazed by how comfortable this gloss feels on my lips. It is not sticky and it does not dry out my lips at all. The lasting power doesn't hurt either. And did I mention that I love the vanilla scent?

Photobucket

3. Cremesheen lipstick in "Creme D' Nude" ($14.00):
I always have been on the look for a perfect nude lipstick that doesn't dry out my lips and doesnt wash out my complexion. I think I have found it in Creme D' Nude. This lipstick applies real smooth on my lips without drying them out and my lips look real smooth and flawless-no cracked and dry lips here. I love layering "Love Nectar" lustreglass over Creme D' Nude because it gives me the perfect glossy nude lip.

Photobucket

4. Beauty Powder Blush in "Fun and Games" ($18.00) from Hello Kitty Collection:
I saw the Hello Kitty Collection, and I just had to get a few things from the collection. The packaging was too cute! I got this fun and games blush along with the Pink Fish tinted lip conditioner. This blush is peachy with really small flecks of gold shimmer, but I cant really see the shimmer when I apply this blush. The blush applies matte for me and it is really sheer so I have to keep layering until I get it to really show up on my cheeks. I love this blush and it is perfect for everyday wear, bceuse it subtle and I love peachy cheeks!

Photobucket

5. Tinted Lip Conditoner in "Pink Fish" ($14.50) from Hello Kitty Collection:
I am so sad that this lip contioner was limited edition because I love it so much! This lip contionoer is the perfect pink for my lips. It is a soft pink that makes me feel and look glam. I love it! I also love the fact that it has SPF 15 which helps protect my lips from the sun. Since it was limited edition (MAC, if you read this please make this lip contioner permanent) I have been using the Pink Fish lip conditioner sparingly, hoping that it will last me quite some time.

Photobucket

6. Fix+Rose ($17.00) from A rose romance collection:
I love this versatile skin refreshner. It is perfect for spritzing on your face after makeup application to help eliminate the cakey look, and it is also great for applying pigments and loose shadows. If you haven't read my review on fix+rose, click here where I explain this product more thouroughly.

My MAC stash shall keep growing in time!

Product Rave: CVS Brand Make-up Remover and Gentle Toner System

Photobucket
CVS make-up reover & gentle toner system

Photobucket

Hey Loves, Have I got a great new product for those who love to travel and are always on the go...and it is the CVS Make-up Remover and Gentle Toner System. The kit consists of 20 individually wrapped towelettes (10 make-up removers and 10 gentle toners). I took theis kit with me while on my trip to Cancun and I loved them. Boy, I love products that save me lots of time. It made taking off my makeup and toning my face super simple and quick!

The make-up remover towelettes contain chamomile, vitamin E, and triple tea complex. The gentle toner towelettes contain witch hazel (the key ingredient in most toners) and tea trea oil.

At night I wipe all my makeup off with the make-up remover towelette, and I wash my face with an acne cleanser and after I pat my face dry, I apply the gentle toner towelette and I am good to go for the night! My face is super clean and refreshed.

I love that the toner towelette does not sting my face because I have pretty sensitive skin as you all know, and I have to be careful with what I use. The towelettes have also not caused any acne breakoouts for me-huge plus! And I can't get enough of the make-up remover towelette because it truly removes all of my makeup! And I can use this towelette to even remove even my eye makeup because it doesn't sting my eyes.

The smell is not over powering to me at all-it may be for others, but overall I think the towelettes have a great tea-inticing smell. Oh yea, I almost forgot to mention-the packaging is super cute. It has stenciled-on like flower designs which I find just adorable!!!! I know, I am such a sucker for cute packaging. Gotta work on that hahaha.

I definetly suggest this for every skin type, and for anybody who is always on the go. These towelettes are quick and easy to use no matter where you are.

CVS Brand Make-up Remover and Gentle Toner System is available at CVS drugstores, and retails for under $10.00. (sorry loves, forgot how much this was-I will go to my local CVS and find out the price for you and I will update the price for you all)

Are any of you going to go to your local CVS store and get this system? If you have tried it or are looking forward to trying it, please let me know in the comments section below loves.

Tarte is one of my favorite brands because their products truly deliver what they promise. It also doesn't hurt that ALL of their cosmetics products are free of harsh chemicals such as parabens, mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, and sulfates. I can truly say that I trust in Tarte when it comes to keeping my complexion glowing, and pimple-free. I can't get enough of their Smooth Operator Foundation which contains SPF 20, and skin friendly ingredients...but thats another review that will be coming along soon.

Awesome Foundations that are under $13.00!

I am a major foundation fan! I love to try em' all. I can't just stick to one. To be honest I have not really found my HG of foundations, but I have tried some that are close to HG status-but there always seems to be something missing.
What I do love though, are great bargains! For this post, I am rounding out my top 3 favorite foundations that are under $13.00, that deliver ( I have tried and tested these foundations).

Are there any foundations that you love that have made my top 3 list? If so, tell me in the comments.

This foundation is amazing. I think this is the best coverage a drugstore foundation has given me-ever! I have the combination/Oily Skin formulation (there is also the normal/dry skin formulation which contains SPF 15 instead of 6...I don't understand why?) which fits my skin description perfecly because my skin is dry and oily. I have the shade Medium Beige which to me, would be great for those who have yellow undertones with a little bit of pink. When I apply this foundation I use a stippling brush and I make sure that I blend this foundation right away, because it dries pretty fast and sets on your skin. If you want oil and shine control, this foundation definetley delivers! Go get your self some of this stuff (FYI: This foundation is often compared to MAC's Studio fix fluid).

If you are a mineral foundation kind of gal or guy, then this is a pretty good product for you. This foundation is 100% natural and its a breeze to apply. Just use the little kabuki brush and buff the foundation all over the face. While the coverage may be a bit sheer, I love it because I am not too crazy about the full coverage foundations and I dont like that feeling of a lot of product on my face. It does not contain much shimmer which is great for those who love a matte face. So if you are a fan of sheer coverage and a light feel on your face then go for this mineral foundation. (FYI: mineral foundation is superb for the summer because its so lightweight).

This foundation is perfect for those who like products that dont contain harsh ingredients and chemicals. This foundation is composed of 50% water which is great. This foundation gives a nice sheer coverage on my face, it doesn't feel heavy, and I love that it does not clog my pores making this foundation a great optiion for those with acne-prone skin! (FYI: This foundation is best applied when you use your fingers. Clean fingers are the best tool for applying liquid foundation because they guarantee a well-blended face).

Clean&Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser

As you all may know, I have the most sensitive, acne-prone skin imaginable. Luckily my acne is kept under control with the help of my fab dermatologist-but I do get break outs from time to time. As I have learned, there is no cure for acne. There are only products that can help keep it under control.
I was very surprised when my dermatologist told me that the best cleanser to use for acne-prone skin is from Clean and Clear! I figured that high end products would be the doctor's pick. But that was not the case. I was really happy when she told me to go to my local drugstore and pick up Clean and Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser. This acne cleanser contains 10% Benzoyl Peroxide, which helps fight off bacteria. I suppose that is what doctors like best-that it has a higher pecentage of Benzoyl Peroxide because most cleansers have less than that.

Product Description:
"Daily Cleanser that keeps fighting breakouts long after you wash."-from bottle

Active Ingredient:
Benzoyl Peroxide-10%

My views/thoughts:
I apply this cleanser mornings and night. I wet my face then I rub in the cleanser and massage it on my face for about 30 seconds and I get this immediate tingle and cool feeling on my face. The smell reminds me of menthol (which is an ingredient in tis cleanser)but I don't think it is overpowering at all. When I rinse off the products my face feels really clean and cool. Even after I rinse, I still get that cool tingle on my face which I love.
I also love the fact that this cleanser does not irritate my skin or make it red. It does not dry out my face either which is a plus. After I rinse off the cleanser I apply a facial moisturizer to lock in moisture on my face.

Results/Verdict:
I have been using this cleanser for about 5 months (though I must admit that it is on and off because I do like to try out new cleansers...but unfortunaltey, some don't work as well for me. No matter what, I always come back to Clean and Clear Continuous Contril Acne Cleanser.) and I really love it. This cleanser helps control my acne and keep me clear. I believe this cleanser is HG status and I am glad that my dermatologist recommended this for me. I am also happy that I dont have to spend a fortune for this stuff (it cost me $6.89 in my local CVS).
I recommend this cleanser fopr those who are acne prone. Give it a try, what have you got to lose? And its dermatologist recomended which is a plus!

Have any of you tried this cleanser? What are some of your favorite cleansers for acne? Please let everybody know in the comments!

Clean&Clear is readily available in drugstores.

Quick Hello!

Hey loves!

Just wanted to stop by and check in on my lovely readers. I am here hanging out in the hubby's house. I am here waiting for him to come home because he went to work...I miss him ;( But he will be coming along soon, so I can wait. hahaha.
I hope you all are enjoying your Thursday so far.
I leave to Cancun on Monday loves! I cant wait! I will be MIA for the rest of next week but I will be sure to post a lot of pictures from my trip. Last I checked on the status of the weather in Cancun it was not looking pretty good...rain, rain, and more rain. I hope mother nature cuts us some slack in Cancun, and provide us with lots of warm weather and sunshine.

Here is a pic of how I look today and what I am wearing-my most favorite shirt ever from American Eagle! This black and white checkered shirt is a staple in my wardrobe. I have worn this shirt with jeans, leggings, and coming up I will wear it with cute denim shorts. As for the makeup. I just kept everything simple. I put some tinted moisturizer, and I did a neutral eye with some black eyeliner on the top lash line. As for the lips, I just did a clear gloss.
