Product Review: Tarte MultiplEye Mascara

Hey Beauties! We made it to Friday, YAY!

What do you all have planned this weekend? Doing anything exciting? I am planning on catching up on some school work and enjoying the beautiful weather that this weekend will bring to New York. I have had enough of the cold and I am glad that I am starting to feel the relaxing warmth again.

I won the lovely makeupjunkie's Tarte mascara giveaway contest! My prize was Tarte's multiplEye mascara. I was so happy to find out that I was the winner and that I could try this mascara out for myself. Thank You girl! Go check out her blog
here. She is amazing!

The mascara is part of Tarte's 3 step multipleEye regimen:

Step 1:
MultiplEye Lash Enhancer ($65.00)
Step 2:
MultiplEye Clinically-Proven natural Lash Enhancing Primer ($22.00)
Step 3:
MultiplEye Clinically-proven Natural Lash Enhancing Mascara ($24.00)

I can't really base this review on all the 3 steps used together because I don't own the first two steps. I am only going to be reviewing the mascara (step 3).

Facts About The Mascara:

1. Increases lash volume by 638% (Whoa!)

2. This mascara does not contain parabens, phthalates, sulfates, fragrances, etc....

3. Dermatologist Tested

My Thoughts:

The packaging of the mascara is really pretty to look at. So different that other mascara packaging which tends to be plastic. This one is more sturdy. I love that the formula of this mascara is very smooth, and not gunky or clumpy at all. The mascara brush is a great size that I am sure many people can be comfortable using it, and I love that I can comfortably reach the inner corners of my lashes without worrying weather or not I am going to poke my eye out LOL!

Even though this products claims that it is fragrance free, I do detect a bit of an odd smell. My guess would be the alcohol which is listed in the ingredients. The smell is not too strong so it does not bother me much, and you definitely can not smell it when it's on your lashes.

I must say this mascara truly impressed me and I will be purchasing this mascara when I am done with this one. My HG mascara is Cover Girl Lash Blast, but Tarte's multiplEye has the potential to knock Cover Girl Lash Blast to 2nd place. It is that good! It truly lengthened my lashes like a mo'fo! I saw volume and my lashes were really flirty, pretty, and dark. The best part is that I got absolutely no clumping! When it comes to how many coats are applied, two usually do it for me. I am pretty sure if you do more than 2 coats it can start to look clumpy. Oh, let's not forget to mention that this mascara lasted all day on me with no smudges or flakes in sight to give me raccoon eyes. As for the removal factor, multiplEye is very easy to remove for me, no struggles at all. Love!

I definitely recommend this mascara for those who want super length and volume with no clumps. I am so happy that I got the opportunity to try this mascara out, and I can officially say right here on this blog that Tarte multiplEye is added to the list of my HG mascara category. Cover Girl being my HG drugstore mascara, and the one from Tarte being my HG department store mascara.

What do you all think if Tarte's multiplEye Natural Lash Enhancing Mascara? Any of you going to try it? If you did what did you all think of it? Let me know in the comments section :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous Friday Dolls!

Mini-Haul: E.L.F.

Happy Monday Dolls!

I hope your day is off to a great start. This weekend went by super fast...don't you hate it when that happens? LOL!

Last night I stopped by my local Target store because I wanted to check out the new E.L.F. display and see what goodies they may contain. But to my utter amazement...I was not thrilled at all with the E.L.F. items my local Target had. I don't know if it was just that Target or what, but I may have to check out another Target and see if they have more selections and better items. The products I saw were just the basic E.L.F. stuff I see everywhere else. There were a lot of the $1.00 items, and from the studio line I only spotted blushes, and like maybe 2 eyeshadow choices. The eye shadows were brown shade family and I figured I have way too many dupes for them so I passed.

I ended up purchasing a pair of eyelashes, an eyeshadow brush, and a Hypershine lip gloss. Here are some pictures and swatches listed below. I am going to go to a Target by my school tomorrow and check out with what they have there. Hopefully I don't leave the store empty-handed LOL! (Click images For Enalrgment)

When it comes to E.L.F. brushes, it is either going to be a hit or a miss. The only E.L.F. brush that never disappoints me and one I can always rely on to do the job is the E.L.F. eyeshadow brush ($1.00). It never sheds on me, and it packs on shadow colors very good. Trust me when I say, you will not be disappointed with this brush. I already have an E.L.F. eyeshadow brush that I purchased years ago and to this day it still looks brand new, the bristles are STILL soft, and it does the job well. I couldn't resist buying another back up while I was at Target.

I purchased a pair of E.L.F. lashes ($1.00). The pair looks very pretty and natural and I can't wait to try them on for an upcoming look of the day post. As with all eyelashes I purchase, I don't really use the eyelash glue that comes in the package along with them. I usually use my favorite eyelash glue-Duo eyelash adhesive which can be found in drugstores.

Lastly, I purchased the E.L.F. Hypershine Lipgloss in Flirt ($1.00). Flirt is a gorgeous soft pink creamy gloss. It comes in a brush tip applicator that you have to twist it to get the product out. The first time you use this, you have to twist it about 7 to 10 times, but after that you just need to twist 2 times to get enough product out. I love brush tip applicators, I find that they make applying gloss easy while giving me a more natural look to my lips. This color gives the lips a pretty shine, while not being sticky at all...Love! The smell is a little weird though, I can't really describe it but I am not too fond of it. But no worries, the smell disappears once it's on the lips. This gloss gives my lips a tint of color to them-a my lips, but better look.

Thank You all for stopping by. And be on the lookout for another E.L.F. haul!

Have a great day :)

Hey Dolls!

Here is a look of the day...I know it has been awhile since I have done one. I am slowly, but surely getting back on track with everything LOL! For this look of the day I wanted to do something that would look nice with the MAC amplified lipstick in Blooming Lovely from the give me liberty of london collection that I picked up a few weeks ago. Blooming lovely is a gorgeous creamy mauve with pinkish undertones. I love how this lipstick applies so smoothly. I also like the fact that it gives the lips a sheen to them. I paired the lip with a light matte purple and shimmery teal eye.

Mini-Haul: Wet n' Wild

Hey dolls!

the weekend is finally here! Was it just me, or did this week go by pretty quickly? What are your plans for the weekend? Doing anything exciting? This weekend I am just going to take it easy, relax, and work on a music essay I have to hand in by Monday.

I stopped by Walgreens yesterday and picked up a few new wet n' Wild items. Here are some pictures and descriptions of the items.
(click all images for a larger view of the products).

Left to Right: Kaleidoscope, Sunny Side Up

Zoya Akyra With 3 coats of wet n' Wild Kaleidoscope

I purchased two Wet n' Wild High Shine nail polishes ($.99 each!). Kaleidoscope is a gorgeous glitter polish. It is clear based and contains semi-chunky holographic silver glitters that reflect red, green, and blue. I bought this polish mainly for the fact to apply it over my solid polishes to give them a little more oomph. I don't really have many glitter based nail colors but I have seen the light! And now I know what all the hype is about. Kaleidoscope applies really easily and you get glitter covered nails in no time-about 2-3 thin coats and you are good to go. The glitter feels a little gritty but the grittiness softens up after you apply a clear top coat.

I also bought Sunny Side Up which is a gorgeous orange cream. I do not own an orange like this one and I am so excited to wear this color for my next nail of the day. Stay tuned for that post! I will let you all know how that color applies and how I feel about it.

Wet n' Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Princess

Swatch of Wet n' Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Princess

I have been looking for a really good bronzer since it is starting to warm up outside and I want a product that adds a bit of warmth to my complexion and I think I found it. I purchased Wet n' Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Princess ($3.29) which is a golden based bronzer that contains fine golden shimmers. I don't think (at least on me) that the shimmers are too pronounced. After I apply, I am left with a nice healthy glow on my skin. I use this bronzer to contour and it works great for that! It is very pigmented (a little goes a long way), it blends easily and I love that it does not look orange on my skin. The brush that Princess comes with is not bad at all. It is angled (great for getting a precise application right where you want it) and the bristles are not too soft or floppy-which results in an uneven application. The bristles are pretty sturdy and a bit firm. The only thing that I am not loving about this bronzer is the fact that it is too soft. When I swipe my blush brush onto the bronzer, there is a bunch of loose fallout that results from this. But it is something I can get over. I really do love this bronzer LOL!

Have any of you tried any of the items I have mentioned? Love it? Hate it? Let me know in the comments section.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and Thank You all for stopping by. Stay tuned for more Wet n' wild posts...I am definitely going to be picking up more of their new products :)

Nail Of The Day: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Polish in Mango Motion

Hey Dolls!

I hope you are all having a great day. Whats new in your end of the woods? I am super stoked that I can rest from exams for a while. I had my last exam today and I won't have anymore until finals week arrives-which is in a month or so. I can relax a bit, but not too much. I have a bunch of essays to work on. Ahhh the college life LOL!

Here is what I am currently sporting on my nails this week. I stopped by Duane Reade and spotted a new Sally Hansen Insta-Dri display which contained really pretty creamy pastel-like colors. There was an aqua, violet, vivid pink, light green, and my most favorite- a creamy pink/coral color. I don't know if the colors I saw from the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri line were limited edition, but I believe they are. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The color I purchased was Mango Motion ($4.99) which is a gorgeous creamy coral with pink undertones in it. This polish contains no shimmer whatsoever so if you are a fan of creamy corals then this is a color you must pick up. As usual with all of my Insta-Dri polishes this polish was very easy to apply and I got an even, opaque look in 2 coats. To be honest with you all, these pictures did not do the true bright, fun coral polish any justice. This polish color is a lot less orange than the pictures show. It is more of a bright coral. I can tell already that I am going to constantly rock this polish color on my toes when sandal season approaches.

Here are some pictures. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all enjoy!

Product Review: Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palettes in Vanity and Greed

Hey Beauties!

I hope you are all doing well and the weekend is treating you all right! I am super sorry for the lack of posts, school has been keeping me very busy lately and I am always exhausted when I get home. But no worries. No matter what I am doing, or where life takes me...I have no plans to stop blogging-It's one of my passions and favorite things to do. I also love the opportunity of getting to know more about you guys! And I gotta admit, playing with makeup and beauty products is pretty fun hahaha! I am sure by the time the semester is over (the end of May) I will be back to normal again and blog much more frequently.

I went to Duane Reade the other day and wanted to pick up some more Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palettes ever since I fell in love with Lust (see my review here). I ended up purchasing Vanity and Greed. I forgot how much I paid for these palettes, I believe they were $4.99 each-correct me if I am wrong please. (Click all images for larger view)

Vanity contains more neutral based shadow colors-so if you are a neutral shadow lover, then I definitely recommend you go pick up Vanity. You will not be disappointed. As with all Color Icon palettes, you get 3 mattes and 3 shimmers. I love all of the shadows in this palette and I have been using it almost every day for creating a soft, neutral eye for school.

Wet n' Wild Color Icon in Vanity

Swatches in order of the palette-Vanity

1. Matte, soft cream (great for a highlight)
2. Matte soft camel (great for all over lid color)
3. Matte dark brown (great for outer V and crease)
4. Shimmery cream with very fine silver sparkles
5. Shimmery gold with fine gold sparkles
6. Shimmery bronze with fine gold sparkles

I am very happy that I picked up vanity. all of the shadows are very well pigmented and I can come up with many different looks with this amazing neutral eyeshadow palette. I think this is a palette none of you should pass up.

Now, let's take a closer look at Greed. When I saw Greed, I was so excited to try it out. The colors looked amazing-there were soft pinks, shimmery lilac, matte black, shimmery dark grey...my dream! I had envisioned myself using this palette to create sexy smokey eyes. But to my utter amazement, I was NOT impressed with this palette. The pigmentation on these were way off, and non-existent. The mattes were chalky and the colors easily faded. The shimmers were just that-shimmers! No color pay off whatsoever and again, the colors faded really quickly. I hope you all forgive me for not having swatches for the Greed palette, but I had so much trouble getting any color pay off and it was not photographing the way I wanted it to. I am so dissapointed that this palette did not do it for me. The colors looked amazing...but the pigmentation just wasn't there.

Wet n' Wild Color Icon in Greed

1. Matte soft neutral cream (highlight)
2. Matte soft coral (all over lid)
3. Matte Black
4. Light Lilar with silver shimmers
5. Soft Pink with silver shimmers
6. Dark Grey with silver shimmers

Overall, I would say pass on the greed palette. So sad, because the colors looked so pretty :(

Have any of you tried any of these new Color Icon palettes mentioned above? Let me know how you feel about them if you have. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below.

Have a great and happy Saturday Loves!

Product Review: Maybelline EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner

Hey Dolls!

You all may know that I am a huge fan of
Stila Smudge Pots Gel Eyeliners ($20.00). I think they are amazing and so easy to apply with my Sonia Kashuk Bent Eyeliner Brush ($5.99). But I am sure that most of us are not down with the $20 price tag that comes along with the Stila smudge pots. So what is a girl to do? Look for a quality alternative that is decently priced of course! I was super excited to learn that Maybelline recently released their new eyeliners called EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner. The best part is that they are only $9.99 and can be found in most drugstores that carry Maybelline products. But did this gel eyeliner WOW me? Read on to find out!

I picked up the liner in the Blackest Black color. There were other varieties to choose from as well such as a charcoal gray, a brown one, and there was also an eggplant purple/plum color.

Maybelline EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black

Maybelline EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black in action!

Here are the claims on this new Gel Eyeliner by Maybelline:

1. Smudgeproof

2. Waterproof
3. Very intense color payoff

4. Safe for sensitive eyes, and contact lens safe

5. Ophthamologist tested

6. It can last 24 hours

7. oil-free formula

I love that this gel eyeliner comes with a brush that has a fine, flexible tip-this makes applying liner super easy because you can actually control how you apply it. Although the brush is pretty good, I still prefer applying this gel eyeliner with the Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner brush.

The eyeliner comes in a small .106 OZ 3g glass jar. It may seem small, but believe me you only need a tiny bit each time and a little bit always goes a long way. I love when gel eyeliners come in glass jars because I feel like that way, the product lasts much longer without drying up. So far, this gel eyeliner by Maybelline is very creamy, applies smoothly, and has no signs of drying up anytime soon. A good tip that I like to share when it comes to keeping gel eyeliners from drying out so soon, is to close the lid tightly right after you dip your brush inside. If you have to get more product, unscrew the lid open again and close tightly after picking up some more. This method has proven to be effective for me over the years.

When it comes to intense color-this baby does not disappoint! I love how pigmented and deep the color is. What's really great is that I don't have to go back for more product, or go over the same line again and again, in order to intensify the color. One stroke is plenty. I also want to mention that I do find that this eyeliner lasts on my lids for quite some time. I have worn this liner for about 8 hours or so and I am never left with any smudges or flakes at the end of the day.

I am not sure about this liner lasting 24 hours. I don't even think I would ever wear an eyeliner for 24 hours, LOL! I also applied this liner on my waterline, (NOTE: It is not recommended to apply gel or cream eyeliners on the waterline. I do it sometimes because it really does not affect or bother my eyes in any way. I am not endorsing applying gel/cream eyeliners on the waterline, but if you are going to do it, do it at your own discretion!) and it lasts a long time on the waterline-I am impressed!
When it comes to removal, this liner is very easy to remove. I use my makeup remover wipes, then I make sure to follow with my face cleanser, and I am good to go-all off. Easy!

Overall, this gel eyeliner by Maybelline truly has Wowed me. I can honestly say that I can't seem to find anything about this product that I don't love. I can't wait to try the other colors in the line. I am so happy that I have finally found a budget-friendly, drugstore alternative to my beloved Stila Smudge Pot.

Have any of you tried this new Gel Eyeliner by Maybelline? Let me know in the comments section what you all think about it. I want to hear your thoughts!

Product Rave: Tweezerman Pink Polka Dot Mini Slant Tweezers

Hey Loves!

Spring Break has finally come to an end for me. It was fun while it lasted. I had a great Spring Break-can't complain. I relaxed, I slept, and I enjoyed the beautiful weather that we have been having lots of lately here in New York. How is everything going on your end ladies? I hope you have all been doing well :)

I stopped by my local Sephora store yesterday, and I spotted the most adorable tweezers I have ever seen-the Tweezerman Pink Polka Dot Mini Slant Tweezers ($15.00). I have always used these no-name brand tweezers and they did the job, but my eyebrows would always have a few little hairs left over that I just couldn't pull out. Don't you hate that? Well, ladies and gentlemen that has all changed for me with the Tweezerman. I am not kidding you that these babies will pull out every bit of hair you have. No matter if it's long or short-it's coming out! I love how fast I can pluck my eyebrows now, because literally this tweezer is fool-proof, it's easy to shape your eyebrows, and it gets the job done with very minimal effort. (click images for enlargement)

There are many other varieties of the Tweezerman tweezers as well as the full size, but I love pink so I got the mini pink polka-dot one. The tweezer tips are made of stainless steel and these babies are really sharp-it's a good thing that the tweezers come with their own protective tip cover. I have never tweezed with such a sharp tool in my life!

Overall, I definitely recommend you go pick yourself up some Tweezerman tweezers. I know some of you may not be happy about the $15.00 price tag, but I believe it is worth it. These tweezers truly changed the way I do my eyebrows. Love! Did I mention these mini tweezers are perfect for carrying in your purse when you are on the go?

Tweezerman tweezers can be found at your nearby Sephora store, or the
Sephora website. Have any of you tried tweezers by Tweezerman? Let me know in the comments section, I want to hear your thoughts :)

Happy Tweezing!

Nail Of The Day: Color Club Warhcl + Konad

Hey Loves!

You all know I am in love with Color Club nail polishes and I can't get enough of them. I went to Bed Bath and beyond the other day and I picked up a few Color Club Polishes, Warhcl being one of them (I don't even know how to pronounce the name of this polish LOL!) Warhcl is a gorgeous hot pink neon color that is a sure stand-out. This color is perfect to use for a summer pedi :)

I applied three coats of Warhcl and I got a pretty decent opaque coverage-but I am sure a fourth coat would have done the trick (please pardon my messy nail polish application-I was in a rush). This color applied ok-but not the best. It seemed like I really had to work on getting an opaque coverage. I don't think I like this color on my nails very much. I think it doesn't do anything for me. But I am definitely rocking this color on my toes. I think this polish would work best for a pedicure color. But it sure is a pretty color to look at, and I am happy I purchased it-I don't have anything like this color in my collection.

Of course, I had to add in a Konad design (or a few LOL!). I used images from plates m2, m3, and m59. The blue polish is Konad Special Polish in Blue.

Here are some pictures and I hope you all enjoy! I want to mention that this color was super hard to capture in photos. The color of the polish is much more brighter in person.

What are you all wearing on your nails? Let me know in the comments section!

P.S. I ordered some nail polish colors from China Glaze's new collection, Up & Away. I can't wait to receive them so I can swatch them for you! These are going to be my first China Glaze nail polishes ever. I can't wait!
