Ipsy│May 2014

Every month, I eagerly wait for the arrival of my Ipsy bag. I am always pretty content with the items in my bag but this month's bag initially left a little to be desired, since my May bag was heavily skincare based. I like trying new skincare products every now and then, but I will almost always prefer receiving more makeup than skincare when it comes to beauty subscription services.

But not all is lost. I did get a pretty eyeshadow duo that I am excited about, and after trying a couple of the skincare items with positive results, I concluded that my May Ipsy bag wasn't so bad after all. Besides, the bag itself is adorable, and the $45 value of the bag was pretty sweet.

Ipsy-May 2014

Hang Ten Classic Sport SPF 50: I really like this sunscreen. So much so that I am actually considering purchasing a full size tube of it. This sunscreen is water resistant, paraben free, and offers protection from UVA / UVB rays. It contains a light pleasant scent, feels lightweight on, and doesn't leave behind a greasy film or white cast on the skin. Love it! (Value: $2.17, Full Size: $12.99)

Pur~Lisse™ Pur~Moist Hydra Balance Moisturizer: This Vitamin E infused moisturizer helps hydrate the skin, giving it a dewy appearance and a supple feel. It's suitable for normal-dry / sensitive skin types, and it can be used day and night. Since I prefer my daytime moisturizers to contain SPF in them, I think I am going to reserve this one for night time use. (Value: $16.17, Full Size: $55)

Hey Honey™ Take It Off! Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask: I just love pampering my skin every week with a facial mask. This paraben free mask is infused with Alpha Hydroxy Acids to brighten skin, and honey extracts which provides moisture. After applying a thin layer of this mask onto my face, I let the mask dry for 15-20 minutes and then I gently peel away. This mask has a pleasant scent, isn't irritating to my skin, nor is it drying. After use, my skin not only has a brighter appearance, it feels super smooth too. (Value: $7, Full Size: $35)

Pacifica Mineral Eyeshadow Duo: This eyeshadow duo was exclusively customized just for Ipsy. The two eyeshadows in this duo can be found in Pacifica's Mystical eyeshadow palette. Comprised of a satin opalescent pink and a shimmered light golden champagne, this eyeshadow duo makes for the prettiest pairing. The shadows go on really smooth, and although the colors are a bit on the sheer side these brighten the eyes like no other. Just a dab on the inner corners does wonders. (Estimated Value: $4)

derma e® Microdermabrasion Scrub: I am looking forward to trying this paraben free scrub. It helps get rid of dead skin cells, diminish the look of wrinkles and acne scars, and also absorb excess oil. It contains lime and lemon peel, grapeseed and Vitamin E, which are great sources of antioxidants. (Value:$16.25, Full Size: $32.50)

  1. Interesting box, so much skincare! I prefer getting half make up at least! That duo does look easy and lovely to use and I'd actually be interested to try the scrub and mask...love seeing these posts!

    1. I wasn't wild about it at first glance, but it wasn't all that bad once I got to try out a couple of the items!
