E.L.F. Jumbo Lip Gloss Sticks: In The Nude, Pink Umbrella, Flirty & Girly, Movie Star, Sangria Starters

When I saw these Jumbo Lip Gloss Sticks ($2.00, each) on the E.L.F. website, I just had to try a few for myself. They looked pretty promising, and the color variety intrigued me even more. Today, I am going to be sharing with you my thoughts on five of the jumbo lip gloss stick shades that I picked up-In The Nude, Pink Umbrella, Flirty & Girly, Movie Star, and Sangria Starters.

E.L.F.'s Jumbo Lip Gloss Sticks contain nourishing ingredients like Vitamin E, Jojoba, and Soybean, which help moisturize and condition lips. This cold, winter weather has my lips constantly feeling dry so, the fact that these contain moisturizing ingredients for my lips is a super nice treat that I can surely appreciate this time of the year. The chubby pencils contain a practical twist up/down mechanism, which easily dispenses the stick, and eliminates the need for sharpening. These do contain a sweet, peppermint fragrance but it doesn't cause a tingling sensation on my lips, nor does the scent linger for long once the gloss has been applied.

These lip gloss sticks simply glide on the lips, resulting in a lovely shiny finish, each time. These feel so comfortable and moisturizing on, too. The pigmentation on these is pretty nice, and the color is buildable. Apply one layer to achieve a light wash of color, or apply more to get a richer, intense color payoff.

The longevity of these isn't the best. Because of their slippery texture and creaminess, I get about 2 hours wear before the color fades away and I have to reapply again. Flirty & Girly was the only one that had the ability to hang on for much longer because it has a much thicker texture than the rest.

In The Nude: Peach/beige with a cream finish. If you love the nude lip look, this is the perfect shade to try. I like how this color does not wash out my complexion, like other nude lip colors can. Because of the color, this one does have the tendency to accentuate any flakes or dry bits that may be on lips. Proper exfoliation and prepping of the lips prior to application is a must, in order to achieve the most smoothest looking results.

Pink Umbrella: Medium pink with a cream finish. This is one of my favorites! The pink coloring gives a natural looking, pop of soft pink to the lips, which looks super flattering on. Pink umbrella has become one of my favorite everyday shades to sport. It just goes with any look.

Flirty & Girly: Vivid fuchsia with heavy shimmers and a frosty finish. How fun is this lip color? The bright color along with the shimmers are just real showstoppers. The shimmers are pretty prominent, and although they do feel textured on the lips, they don't feel uncomfortable on by any means. The shimmers dazzle beautifully, giving lips a glam look that is great for sporting on a night out. The finish of this one is a bit on the frostier side, but I wouldn't classify it as an "outdated" frost finish. It's more like a frost finish with a new, cool kick to it.

Movie Star: Berry red with a cream finish. If you want to get in on the berry red lip trend that's frequently popular come fall/winter, but aren't sure how to go about it, I think movie star is a fabulous one to start with. It's not a super loud color, and it's very wearable.

Sangria Starters: Reddened brown with a cream finish. Another favorite! The color looks murky and a bit unexciting in the tube, but it's one of the most gorgeous and flattering lip colors I have ever worn. This color isn't just limited for night time wear, but it is supple and toned down enough for sporting in the daytime, as well. It has become one of my must-have winter lip colors!

Overall: I must say, I really like these. Although the lasting power didn't woo me, my dry lips can't get enough of these so, I guess I don't mind reapplying throughout the day. I love how affordable these are. At just $2.00, I suggest picking up a few if you are on the market for a moisturizing gloss that feels comfortable on the lips and packs a punch in the pigment department.

    1. I was surprised with the amount of pigment these contain-especially for being a gloss. It's like they have the pigment of a lipstick, but the texture and finish of a gloss. Sort of like a hybrid of the two :)
