MAC: Glamour Daze Haul

MAC really outdid themselves with their holiday collection offerings. With all of the variety that's available, there is bound to be something for everyone. Love that! Housed in sleek, shiny black packaging, these products are simply perfect for getting us holiday-ready, in an oh-so-glamorous fashion.

A few weeks ago, I hauled a few bits from the Glamour Daze collection, and I couldn't be anymore pleased with my new goodies. I love MAC lipsticks so it was inevitable for me to purchase a few of them, and of course, I didn't even think to pass up what has become one of my new favorite highlighters.

Take a look!

Whisper Of Gilt Extra Dimension Skinfinish

Whisper Of Gilt Extra Dimension Skinfinish

Whisper Of Gilt Extra Dimension Skinfinish: How cool is the embossed and swirl detailing on the powder? Products with a cool factor like that always manage to draw me in. This is such a pretty highlighter, and I think I can now understand why it is such a popular item among beauty lovers. The bright gold imparts such a lovely, natural looking radiance to the areas where it is applied, that doesn't look overbearing on the skin. As expected, the texture is unbelievably smooth, making application and blending a dream. Next to MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft And Gentle-one of my HG highlighters, Whisper Of Gilt has become one of my newest favorites. I am sure this product is going to last me a long time, because a bit always goes a long way.

L-R: Beauty, Innocence, Dramatic Encounter

Dramatic Encounter

Beauty (Glaze): Icy cool, light pink with micro-shimmers. I love pale pink lip colors like this one, but I do have to be careful as they can wash me out. Luckily, beauty is more of a muted pale pink so I can get away with it. A shade like this one pairs lovely with smokey eyes. Thanks to it's smooth texture, this lipstick easily glides on the lips, and imparts a soft focus sheen. The pigmentation can easily be built up, too. Apply a light layer for a light wash of color, or go heavier for more color intensity.

Innocence (Frost): Apricot with gold and green micro-shimmers. I typically associate apricot lip colors as being more of a spring/summer kind of shade, so it's quite refreshing to see this particular color included in a holiday collection, where bold, bright and deep colors are usually the norm. Thanks to the presence of the micro-shimmers, innocence imparts a gorgeous dazzling sheen, that makes it very holiday appropriate. It also gives the skin a touch of warmth that is very much appreciated this time of the year, when the colder weather often dulls the complexion.

Dramatic Encounter (Amplified Creme): Deep reddened plum/brown with micro-shimmers. I am a nude/pink lip color kind of girl. If I want a bold lip, a striking red never disappoints. Normally, a color like this one is pretty much out of my comfort zone but, I am glad that I took the chance and picked up Dramatic Encounter because surprisingly, I really like it. I must admit that when I first tried it on, I was a little taken aback when I looked at myself in the mirror. I guess I am just not used to seeing myself sporting a super deep lip color like this one. It definitely takes some getting used to, but it's totally worth it though because the color really is gorgeous, and so in tune for the fall/winter season. I wore this out the other night and I must say, I received quite a few stares from people. Dramatic encounter certainty lives up to it's name. It's a statement color indeed-my swatch picture does not do the intensity of the color any justice, and it's one that will get you noticed no matter where you are. This lipstick goes on like a dream, and provides rich color payoff with very little effort. The shiny finish that results on the lips is an added bonus, that compliments the depth of the color perfectly. Because of it's super creamy nature, this lip color is prone to feathering so I recommend applying a lip liner to help avoid that issue.

What do you all think of MAC's holiday collection? What did you all pick up?

P.S. I hope you are all doing well, and had a lovely Thanksgiving!

  1. Oh nice haul! I really love the promo pics for glamour daze but managed to not spend on any of the collection but I did manage to pick up the travel brush kit. I'm really digging the 2nd and last lipstick. The last one is especially tempting to get!

    1. Thanks, Cher! How do you like the travel brush kit? I am weary about purchasing MAC special edition brush kits because, I always read about how the regular sized versions are much better than the travel sized ones, which skimp in quality. They sure are tempting to get, though!

  2. Loving this haul, the lighter lipsticks look great on your lips. Loving Innocence on you. I love the MSF from this collection, too bad I own them already, so I skip this one. Dramatic Encounter is ver pretty for the fall, I might consider getting that if I visit the MAC store.

  4. Nice haul babe! I love the look of Innocence...it's coral but looks quite cool toned. I guess it's the green micro shimmers that are in it. I'm so out of the whole MAC loop lately, I don't even know what collections are out. Need to visit a MAC store soon!

    1. Thanks, Kay! I don't own tribalist lipstick so I can't really say if they are similar or not.
