Maybelline has taken drugstores by storm with the release of their new, Fall 2012 beauty collection. I talked about their Color Tattoo in Ready, Set, Green a few days ago, and now I am going to be sharing with you all this gorgeous new Color Show Nail Lacquer in Auburn Ablaze ($5.49 at Duane Reade). I am super excited about this one, lovelies. This nail color is a beauty! Auburn Ablaze is a reddened wine/brown with shimmers, that's perfect for the fall/winter season. When I spotted this nail color, I immediately fell in love. Actually, I don't believe to have any anything like it. I just know that I am going to be sporting Auburn Ablaze loads.

Auburn Ablaze (2 coats, clear top coat applied over)

Auburn Ablaze contained a formula that was pretty easy to work with. I would describe the consistency as being on the thinner side. But there is definitely a hint of creaminess to it that adds a nice balance. The first coat went on sheer and uneven. But the second coat evened things out and provided an opaque, smooth, and shiny finish. I would even go as far as to say that the finish closely resembles a jewel-toned one. The drying time was fairly quick, but quicker drying results can be achieved with a fast-drying top coat (I use Sally Hansen's Speed Shine 10 day top coat).

My swatch picture above does not do Auburn Ablaze any justice. It really is stunning and much more mesmerizing in person. The shimmers are also more apparent. As for lasting power, it wasn't until the third day that I noticed some tip wear and minimal chipping on a few fingers (with top coat applied atop).

Overall: I can't rave about this nail polish, enough. If you love deep red wine nail colors with a little murkiness to them, Auburn Ablaze is a nice shade to look into. If you are interested in getting your hands on this particular nail color, do so as soon as possible, as this is limited edition.
