E.L.F. Fall 2012 Nail Colors

I know, I know. More nail polish! But I seem to be on a nail polish kick, lately-especially when it comes to fall-inspired nail colors. While at Target a few weeks ago, I spotted a display of what are probably the cutest, E.L.F. nail colors. The python print on the cap drew me in, but it was the array of autumn-esque shades that really had me sold. And at just $2.00 a pop, how could I resist purchasing a few? Today, I am going to be sharing with you all the three that I picked up. These nail colors are not named, so I am going to make up my own names for the purpose of this post, and refer to these as blue, neutral, and grey. I don't see these listed on the E.L.F. website so I am thinking that these are exclusive to Target? Please, let me know in the comments if I am mistaken.

Now, let's take a closer look at these three beauties!

L-R: Blue, Neutral, Grey

Blue-2 coats, no topcoat

Neutral-2 coats, no topcoat

Grey-2 coats, no topcoat (maybe you can all see a bit of the colorful micro-glitters here?)

Blue: Vivid blue shimmers embedded in a black cream base. The glistening blue shimmers are just beautiful. They are a refreshing take on a black cream color. Love it! This one applied the best out of the three, and was the easiest to work with. You can get away with one thick coat, but I did two for good measure.

Neutral: Cool, nude beige cream. Neutral colors like this one are perfect to sport all year round, and I love neutrals so of course, I had to have this one. I really enjoy the tone of this color. It is very flattering and it imparts a delicate, clean look to my nails. The application of this one was a bit tricky-and a bit of a pain, really. It all comes down to finding a method of application that gives the most satisfactory results. Since the formula of this one is on the thicker side, I found that thick, heavy coats is best, as it lessens the chances of streaking and unevenness. Since I love the color so much, I am willing to work with it.

Grey: Metallic dark grey with iridescent, colorful micro-glitter. This is just fun in a bottle-even though my images may show, otherwise. This is one of those nail colors that needs to be seen in person, to really be appreciated. My camera couldn't capture the stunning colorful array of the glistening micro-glitters. Instead, it just looks like a bunch of silver micro-glitter embedded in a metallic dark grey base. But it's so much more, believe me! This is going to be a nice color to sport in the winter. Two coats yielded opaque and even coverage.

Overall: The drying time on these were fairly quick and they all dried to a shiny, smooth finish. I haven't properly tested these out for wear time but usually with E.L.F. nail colors, it's not until the second or third day that I start to spot some tip wear and chipping. These nail colors are super fun, and great shades to get us ready for the fall. I think these are definitely worth a closer look if you spot them at your local Target stores. Who knows? You may just find your perfect fall nail color.

What do you all think of these E.L.F. nail colors? Have any of you tried these?

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with any of the companies mentioned above. I purchased these products for my personal use.

    1. I actually own Desert Haze and I just swatched both Desert Haze and this neutral one on my nails, to answer your question :) Upon close inspection they are pretty close. But the beige in Desert Haze is a bit warmer. The color of the neutral polish I got in Target is much cooler. Thanks for the comment Gabriela!
