E.L.F. Beautifully Bright Nail Polish Set

If there is one thing I can't resist in the summertime, it's bold and brightly-hued nail colors. This mini E.L.F. Beautifully Bright Nail Polish Set ($3.00), was a product that I was excited to try. Being that the set contained fun, and very summer-appropriate colors, how could I resist?

Take a look!

3 coats, no topcoat
1. Party Peach: Bright orange with fine, small golden shimmers. I see no peach in this shade, so I am wondering why this is called party peach? Anyways, this is the perfect shade to reach for, if you are looking to add a bright pop of color to your nails. I typically don't sport too much orange on my nails, and I like that this one is really flattering. The small golden shimmers aren't super noticeable on the nails, but the nails do sort of give off a luminous hue. This one applied nicely but if not careful, streaks can appear. 2-3 coats yielded a smooth and opaque coverage.

4 coats, no topcoat
2. Yellow: Yellow cream. I usually steer clear of yellow nail colors. Not because I don't like the color, but because of its tendency to streak. I don't know about you all but for me, it's hard to find a good yellow nail polish that applies well, without the streak marks. This yellow definitely was one that had potential. The formula was pleasant to work with, and I liked the opacity. But as you all can tell by the nail swatch picture above, no matter how many coats I applied, the streaking and unevenness was just unavoidable. Such a shame because this is such a pretty yellow! I don't know how but, I will try and find a way to make this one work.

2 coats, no topcoat
3. Teal Blue: Green teal cream. I want to apologize for the not-so-great lighting of this picture. As you all can probably tell by now, I like taking pictures of nail swatches in natural, outdoor lighting. Unfortunately, my camera just wasn't cooperating with me when it came to accurately representing the true color of this one. This was a hard one to capture! The nail swatch picture shown above is pretty accurate for the most part, but the teal coloring is much more vivid and brighter in person. Application of this nail polish was the best out of the three. You can easily get away with one coat, for opaque coverage. I applied two, just to even things out a bit. I don't know why this is referred to as teal blue on the E.L.F. website? It's definitely on the green side, if you ask me.

All three nail colors dried exceptionally quick, and to a shiny finish-with the exception of the green teal one, which dried to a semi-matte finish. The nail brush of these was nice to use. The handle is on the shorter side so, it made precise application easily achievable. Loved it! I haven't properly tested the wear time of these but I am currently sporting the teal one, and after two days, I have very minimal chipping. I don't have a top coat on so, maybe lasting power will fare better with one.

Overall, If you favor brights, I think this would be a nice nail set to have. It's inexpensive, it's great for the summer months when bright nails are all the rave, and the nail colors contain Vitamin E which helps strengthen the nails-that's always nice.

What do you all think of E.L.F.'s Beautifully Bright Nail Polish Set? Any yellow nail colors that you love?

  4. I love the yellow polish, but could not wait for 4 coats to dry without any smudges! I don't know what it is about yellow but I can't find one with an opaque formula any where!

    1. This one was surprisingly opaque. But the streaking was unbearable! I can't wait until the day comes when I find a yellow polish with the best, non-streaky formula! :)

    1. They are a pain! LOL! But if I really like the color enough, I try to make it work and deal with it...until I find another similar nail color, that performs better.
