Product Rave: Too Faced Natural Eye, Natural Eye Shadow Collection

Every time I go to Sephora it seems they can never keep the popular Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palette in stock. There is always an empty space where it's display is located at. To this day I still smack myself on the head for passing up the naked eyeshadow palette when it was at Sephora-and get this, it was the LAST one left. And I just left it there! Ugh! I will never forgive myself for that LOL! But I am sure I will get my hands on that naked palette one day since it is a permanent item.

In the meantime, I think I have found an amazing alternative instead. The Too Faced Natural Eye Shadow Collection Palette ($35.00) has been getting pretty impressive raves. And I see why! This eyeshadow palette is not only nice to look at with it's gorgeous flip-top, beautifully illustrated magnetic closure packaging, but for being my first-and certainly not the last, experience with Too Faced eyeshadow, I am very impressed with it's ease of use, blending, and of course its great pigmentation.

This eyeshadow palette contains an array of nine neutral-based shadows that have a variety of finishes-matte, shimmer, frost, and glitter. I really like how each vertical row (which has three shadows), take the guesswork out of determining which shades to combine together if you are going for a specific look. Great for beginners! But, you can always mix and match eyeshadow shades to come up with a fun, and unique look that's all your own. This eyeshadow palette also contains a pull-out compartment that houses a handy dandy, double ended sponge and angled brush applicator-nice additions for when you are on the go.

How-To Cards

How-To Cards: Day, Classic, and Fashion

Did I mention the most coolest thing about this palette? The inclusion of three How-To cards that are contained in a little socket on the opened lid part. Not only are the how-to cards super cute with mega easy to follow instructions, but they also contain a cute illustration of the eye and the finished look. For the Day, you want to keep the look as simple as can be by using the three everyday, neutral mattes located on the first row-Heaven, Velvet Revolver, and Sexspresso. For the Classic, the card suggest using the shadows in the second row which consists of a mixture of shimmers and frosts-Silk Teddy, Push-Up, and Erotica. Lastly, for the Fashion, this is where you really want to make those peepers sparkle. The third row of shadows consists of a fun glitter and a combination of frost and shimmer-Nude Beach, Honey Pot, and Cocoa Puff.

Overall, I really like this eyeshadow palette. The pigmentation is pretty good, but my only disappointment would be that the really pretty glitter-Nude Beach, gives me MAJOR fall-out under the eyes, and it does not have much pigmentation when I apply it on the eyes. I just see a lot of small glitters for the most part. Maybe I will try applying it wet, maybe that will intensify the color a bit more?
It would have been nice if this palette contained a mirror of some sort. That would be awesome. I have rocked a few shades so far and I really like the results I have obtained with them as well as their lasting power. I recommend this eyeshadow palette if you are a neutral eye lover. I really appreciate this palette's ease of use, the options we are given, and it's versatility. Too Faced has shown that neutral eyes does not have to be boring, and we can incorporate it any time-day or night.

Are any of you fans of this Natural Eyeshadow palette from Too Faced? Let me know in the comments section, I would love to hear your thoughts! I will do a future look of the day post using these shadows, so stay tuned for that if you are interested :)

  1. I eye up this palette every time too! I doubt I will ever get Naked and once I do it won't be so "cool" anymore to have one anyway. I mostly wear neutrals anyway and this palette looks great.

  2. Hey Justine,

It is super frustrating that the UD Naked eyeshadow palette is always never in stock at Sephora ugh! But you do have a point-by the time it does become available to us, we aren't going to be so thrilled with it anymore because we have other neutral palettes like this one from Too Faced to keep us happy LOL!

  3. I love this palette, especially the middle row Classic colours.

Since i got my Naked palette i've kind of neglected this one, but it's still a favourite that I can't part with.

And good luck, hopefully you'll find the Naked soon, it's totally worth the hype.

  4. Hey Lilit,

I know how you feel. I neglect a lot of my makeup products as well when I get new goodies LOL! One of my New Year resolutions is to give all my cosmetics some love, especially those that were a bit forgotten :(

But yes, hopefully I can get my hands on the Naked palette again. I can't believe I passed up getting it when I had the chance. Ugh!

  10. Hey Becky,

It is a gorgeous neutral palette LOL! Sorry it seems it's not getting a lot of love. But I do love it indeed. It's just that the Naked palette seems to have more variety and I think you get a great bang for your buck with them.
