Product Review: Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palettes in Vanity and Greed

Hey Beauties!

I hope you are all doing well and the weekend is treating you all right! I am super sorry for the lack of posts, school has been keeping me very busy lately and I am always exhausted when I get home. But no worries. No matter what I am doing, or where life takes me...I have no plans to stop blogging-It's one of my passions and favorite things to do. I also love the opportunity of getting to know more about you guys! And I gotta admit, playing with makeup and beauty products is pretty fun hahaha! I am sure by the time the semester is over (the end of May) I will be back to normal again and blog much more frequently.

I went to Duane Reade the other day and wanted to pick up some more Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palettes ever since I fell in love with Lust (see my review here). I ended up purchasing Vanity and Greed. I forgot how much I paid for these palettes, I believe they were $4.99 each-correct me if I am wrong please. (Click all images for larger view)

Vanity contains more neutral based shadow colors-so if you are a neutral shadow lover, then I definitely recommend you go pick up Vanity. You will not be disappointed. As with all Color Icon palettes, you get 3 mattes and 3 shimmers. I love all of the shadows in this palette and I have been using it almost every day for creating a soft, neutral eye for school.

Wet n' Wild Color Icon in Vanity

Swatches in order of the palette-Vanity

1. Matte, soft cream (great for a highlight)
2. Matte soft camel (great for all over lid color)
3. Matte dark brown (great for outer V and crease)
4. Shimmery cream with very fine silver sparkles
5. Shimmery gold with fine gold sparkles
6. Shimmery bronze with fine gold sparkles

I am very happy that I picked up vanity. all of the shadows are very well pigmented and I can come up with many different looks with this amazing neutral eyeshadow palette. I think this is a palette none of you should pass up.

Now, let's take a closer look at Greed. When I saw Greed, I was so excited to try it out. The colors looked amazing-there were soft pinks, shimmery lilac, matte black, shimmery dark grey...my dream! I had envisioned myself using this palette to create sexy smokey eyes. But to my utter amazement, I was NOT impressed with this palette. The pigmentation on these were way off, and non-existent. The mattes were chalky and the colors easily faded. The shimmers were just that-shimmers! No color pay off whatsoever and again, the colors faded really quickly. I hope you all forgive me for not having swatches for the Greed palette, but I had so much trouble getting any color pay off and it was not photographing the way I wanted it to. I am so dissapointed that this palette did not do it for me. The colors looked amazing...but the pigmentation just wasn't there.

1. Matte soft neutral cream (highlight)
2. Matte soft coral (all over lid)
3. Matte Black
4. Light Lilar with silver shimmers
5. Soft Pink with silver shimmers
6. Dark Grey with silver shimmers

Overall, I would say pass on the greed palette. So sad, because the colors looked so pretty :(

Have any of you tried any of these new Color Icon palettes mentioned above? Let me know how you feel about them if you have. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below.

Have a great and happy Saturday Loves!
