Product Review: Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eye Shadow Palette in Lust

Hey Dolls!

I hope your Tuesday is off to a great start. I went to my local Duane Reade drugstore recently and checked out the new Wet n' Wild products that were recently released. Wet n' Wild really did it up as far as packaging goes. They revamped the line, and I am loving it!

I have been reading and hearing rave reviews on the new Wet n' Wild eye shadow palettes. I saw the palette colors in the display and they all looked fab. But for my first purchase, I decided on the eyeshadow palette in lust. Lust comes with six gorgeous shades-three mattes and three shimmers. I love how the colors coordinate beautifully together and the pigment these babies bring are amazing! It also comes with a sponge and brush applicator.

Wet n' Wild Eyeshadow Palette in Lust ($4.99)

Back of the palette

Align Center

1. Soft, matte baby pink (great for a highlight or all over lid color)
2. Soft nude, with fine, small silver shimmers (great for highlighting)
3. Matte eggplant purple (great for outer V, or crease)
4. Frosty medium green with silver shimmers (great for crease or all over lid)
5. Matte dark purple/brown (great for outer V, or crease)
6. Frosty medium brown with fine, gold shimmer (great for crease and outer V)

(Swatches in same order as in the palette)

Pros:
1. Very affordable palette, with a nice variety to choose from. I am sure everybody can find one they like.
2. Highly pigmented shades, so a little bit of product goes a long way
3. The colors last vibrant on my lids (very minimal creasing-make sure you use a good base beforehand)
4. I love how there is a mixture of mattes and shimmers that are included in the palette.
5. These shadows are very easy to blend
6. Colors coordinate well together
7. Great versatile palette for creating soft day eyes, or sexy smokey eyes for a night out
8. I love how on the back of the palette, there is an illustration that shows where the brow bone, crease, and eyelid are on the eyes. This is a great palette for those who are starting out with makeup application.

Cons:
1. I am not too fond of the plastic packaging. I am scared that if I drop the palette, everything will shatter to pieces. Yikes!

Overall, I am loving the Lust eyeshadow palette by Wet n' Wild. I am def going to be purchasing more (hopefully all! LOL!). I can't also wait to try more of their new items as well. I think that with this, you are definitely getting a bang for your buck. Love it!

Have any of you tried these new eyeshadow palettes by wet n' wild? want to? Love them, hate them? I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts in the comments section.

  1. I've been using the Lust palette, and I love it so far. I especially love the eggplant shade...I was surprised by how pigmented they are. I also have the Greed palette, but I haven't used much of it yet.

  4. this one is my favorite palette. but it's so weird, because on my own palette, the last two shimmer shades are switched (it's supposed to have the grayish one in the middle, like yours. I looked it up on the wnw website). i thought maybe mine was a fluke, but on noveaucheap's palette is just like mine...just thougth that was interesting

Wow! Really? That is quite interesting. I have never heard anything like that LOL! No matter how the shades are arranged, you gotta admit it truly is a great eyeshadow palette :)

  7. You bet girl! LOL! Just search for wet n' wild on the label section on the site, and it should take you to a whole bunch of wet n' wild reviews, looks, and such. I love the color icon bronzer in Princess. I definitely recommend that one if you haven't tried it and if you are fan of bronzer like I am :)

  8. I'm definitely gonna have to try out that bronzer. I have one of their old matte bronzers, but if that bronzer is anything like the eyeshadows, I'm gonna love the bronzer. I love their nailpolishes, eyeshadow trios and singles, and a couple of silk finish lipsticks. Have you been able to get your hands on any of the limited edition holiday palettes?

  9. Princess bronzer is very pretty. I love using it as my contour color and I like the fact that is does not look muddy on my light skin tone and it blends really nicely as well. Have you tried N.Y.C. bronzers? I hear they are really good as well.

I have not tried the new wet n' wild holiday products. I haven't even spotted them in my local drugstores. Weird. But I have seem the eyeshadow palettes and swatches online and they look gorgeous. I will have my eye out for them and keep searching. :)
