Product Review: Organix Soft & Silky Vanilla Silk Shampoo and Conditioner!

Hey Dolls!

I hope you all had a great weekend! It is now Monday...which means back to work. I start school again on Thursday. I am kind of happy about it, because I have been extremely unproductive and I need to exercise my brain again lol :P I promised myself that I am going to bust hard and make sure I do great in all my classes ( I am taking 5 classes this semester ).

Ok, back to beauty land. I stopped by my local Duane Reade store and was browsing the Shampoo aisle. I was originally going to get my handy dandy and reliable Head and Shoulders shampoo, but I wanted to try something different-branch out of my element. I spotted the Organix aisle and checked it out. The words that drew me in were "Sulfate Free". And it didn't hurt that the stuff was organic as well. There were lots of scents to choose from, and I ended up purchasing the Soft & Silky Vanilla Silk Shampoo and matching conditioner ($6.99 each). They both smelled divine! And although the bottles may look small, you do get a good amount for what you pay for (13 fl. Oz).

Here are some awesome facts about the Organix Vanilla Silk shampoo and conditioner (as stated on the back of the bottle):

1. Sulfate/Paraben Free
2. Safe For Color-Treated Hair
3. Contains Organic Tahitian Vanilla Bean Oils that help make hair smooth, nourished, and moisturized
4. Contains Silk Amino Proteins that help strengthen and seal in hair's cuticles
5. The Organix bottles are eco-friendly.

As soon as I got home, I hopped in the shower and gave these babies a roll. I took a quarter sized of the shampoo and worked it into my hair. I was sad to notice that I was getting a low amount of lather in my hair (something that is most common with Sulfate/Paraben free shampoos). I washed away and rinsed. Then I did another round of shampoo and again took a quarter sized amount and what do you know...it lathered really well! I can't explain it either, but I can tell you all that I was very happy. When I rinsed the shampoo, my hair did feel a bit dry though. And it had a nice hint of the vanilla bean scent. Yum!

I next moved onto the conditioner and loved how thick it was. I concentrated the product mostly on my ends. I left the conditioner on my hair for about 5 minutes. I rinsed and my hair felt really clean and still had a nice faint smell of the Vanilla Bean Scent.

When I got out of the shower I towel dried my hair and immediately noticed that my hair felt dry, and straw-like. This worried me because I thought to myself that when I blow dry my hair it's going to be dry and rough. But that was not the case at all! I blew dry my hair, flat ironed it and I was amazed at the outcome. My hair was so easy to blow dry and flat iron-took less time than usual, my hair was so soft, had a nice hint of the Vanilla bean scent, felt clean, felt moisturized, I hardly had any of my usual frizzies, and my hair was shiny all without me putting any shine serum or any other product in my hair! I was mostly worried that this product would cause itchiness, flakes and dandruff, but nope! None of that in sight.

Here are some pics right after I blew dry and flat ironed my hair. My hair was left very shiny and soft.

No hair product on-Look at the shine!

Overall, I definitely recommend the Organix Vanilla Silk shampoo and conditioner. I have really thick, frizzy, and unmanageable hair and I am surprised that an organic line of shampoo and conditioners made my hair so soft and manageable. I would repurchase this in a heartbeat!
