Product Review: E.L.F. Eyeshadow Duo Kit

Hey Dolls! I hope you are all off to a great start this morning :)

I went to my nearby Target store a few days ago, and as I was browsing to the beauty isle I was looking for the E.L.F. products...I finally found the display but there was literally no more E.l.f. products other than a whole bunch of e.l.f. eyeshadow duo kits all in the same color. I was like wow! e.l.f. products sold out fast here. I don't know if Target only had e.l.f. cosmetics for the holidays or if they are bringing more stuff back in stock. We shall see.

I picked up the E.L.F. eyeshadow duo kit (originally $3.00, but was on sale for .75 Cents!). The kit contained an eyeshadow duo in shimmery silver and white, eyeshadow duo in matte medium purple and semi-shimmery medium brown, and a sponge tip applicator. I went to the e.l.f. website and searched for these duos, but I can not seem to find these 2 particular shades. I am guessing maybe they were exclusive to the eyeshadow kit for Target. Click here to be directed to the e.l.f. website section where the duos are listed. The duo eyeshadow that came in the kit had no name on them either.

Anyways, I am a big fan of the e.l.f. brightening quads ($1.00 each) and I was hoping that these duos had the same amount of pigmentation that the quads had. But I was not impressed at all.

-I found the shimmery silver and the purple had very little pigmentation-I had to keep on packing the color on my lid to get a decent amount to show up.

-The colors faded really quickly every time I would blend. If you take a look at the previous post under this one where I do a look of the day using these duos, the shadow colors look a bit washed out.

-The only 2 colors that I found that were really nice to work with were the matte white (nice for a highlight color) and the medium brown (had nice pigmentation and great for crease color).

Here are some pictures and some swatches (click image to enlarge):

Overall, these are nice to have. If you want a nice sheer wash of color then these are right up your alley. But if you are looking for superb pigmentation then skip these. Although, for .75 Cents this is a pretty good deal nobody should pass up. I do want to try other e.l.f. eyeshadow duos though, maybe I will have better luck with the others.

Have any of you tried e.l.f. eyeshadow duos? Like them? hate them? let me know in the comments section loves!

Disclaimer: I purchased this product with my money for my personal use.
