Review│Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit

Aren't the wonders of contouring just amazing? With just a bit of sculpting and defining, one can instantly change/emphasize facial features. One of my absolute favorite products to contour with is Anastasia Beverly Hills' highly raved about-and with good reason, Contour Kit ($40). These powders have literally been one of the best additions to my beauty routine. Not only does this palette contain the perfect mixture of colors to contour and highlight with, it's also very user friendly. Thanks to this kit, a glam contoured and highlighted effect is super easy to achieve.

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit is available in three color choices (light to medium, medium to tan, and tan to deep), so it will compliment many skin tones. I have the light to medium palette.

Top Row L-R: Vanilla, Banana, Sand
Bottom Row L-R: Java, Fawn, Havana

The top row of the palette is comprised of the three powder highlighting shades, and the bottom row is made up of the three powder contouring ones.

Vanilla-light cream matte
Banana-pale yellow matte
Sand-pale cream shimmer
Java-warm brown matte
Fawn-cool brown matte
Havana-warm reddened brown matte

I find that the powders are pretty neutral-based; which I like because the neutral tones look more seamless and one with the skin. The quality of the powders are just superb. They are all smooth, easy to blend, and long lasting. These are also nicely pigmented, so a little bit of product goes a long way.

Left Side (top to bottom): Sand, Banana, Vanilla
Right Side (top to bottom): Havana, Fawn, Java

I can pretty much use all of the colors in this palette. When it comes to the highlighting shades, Vanilla and Banana are great for highlighting and setting concealer under the eyes, and Sand illuminates the tops of cheeks beautifully. As for the contour shades, Java works best for me when I am going for a bronzed up look, since it is on the warmer side. Fawn is the hue I contour with the most since the cool tone looks the most natural; and when I want extra definition, Havana is my go-to.

Overall
There is no denying that there is a plethora of contour kits in the market, but the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit definitely holds its own among them all. I think this is a nice palette to invest in if you are starting out with contouring application, since this makes it so easy and effortless to do. And get this. There are refill colors available ($14 each; on the Anastasia Beverly Hills website) that let you replenish or customize your contour kit. With the different shade options to choose from, you are bound to find the highlighting and contouring colors that best flatter your skin tone. Genius!
