Birchbox│April 2014

My April Birchbox is here! The theme for this month is "Rainy Days" which makes sense, seeing as we get a lot of showers during the month of April. I personally don't mind rainy days. They are a good excuse for indulging in a little beauty pampering session. Things I like to do on rainy days include mani-pedis, treating my skin with a good face mask, and of course there is nothing like curling up in bed with a good book. The items I received in my April box are just the things I need to get me through a rainy day.

Birchbox-April 2014

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Silver Eyeliner: This metallic silver eye pencil is gorgeous. It has a super smooth formula, and it doesn't skimp on color and intensity. To be honest, I am not quite sure what sort of eye look I want to create with this silver liner. But, I am sure it's going to be interesting experimenting with different posibilities. (Full Size: $16 / Value: $12)

Color Club Nail Lacquer in Aquamarine Azulino: This stunning sky blue pearl is just one of four new color club nail colors that you can find in their Gala's Gem Collection-a Birchbox exclusive. Aquamarine Azulino is the perfect hue for spring and summer. It's very opaque too, only requiring 1-2 coats. The illuminating pearl finish is pretty, but unfortunately it's prone to visible brush strokes. A clear top coat applied atop does minimize their appearance, though. (Collection: $13 / Value: $3.25)

Keims Cleanshine Energizing Shampoo: This paraben free shampoo contains peppermint leaf extract to help promote circulation in the scalp, thus stimulating hair growth. It's also infused with macadamia nut to nourish, and silk proteins which strengthen and repair. I have been trying to incorporate more natural shampoos into my routine, so I am really looking forward to trying this. (Full Size: $9.50 / Value: $1.90)

Nyakio Kenyan Coffee Body Scrub, Face Polish, and Hydrating Face Oil with Kola Nut: I have been interested in trying out a couple of products from Nyakio for a long time, so I am glad that I finally have the opportunity to do so. The body scrub contains lots of invigorating and moisturizing ingredients like shea, jojoba seed oil, avocado oil, and coffee beans. The face polish includes coffee extracts, macadamia oil, jojoba oil, and lemongrass to help moisturize and get rid of dull skin. The face oil is infused with kola nut and other natural oils which soften and balance the complexion. Can't wait to give these a go! (Full Size: $34-55 / Total Value: $5.44)

KIND Healthy Grain Bar Maple Pumpkin Seeds with Sea Salt: This was was the lifestyle extra for this month, and boy was it yummy and satisfying. This healthy, gluten free snack was the perfect balance of salty and sweet. It even had that soft and crunchy chewiness that I like. (Pack of 15: $11.88 / Value: $0.79)

Overall
I am very pleased with my April Birchbox, which had a total value of a little over $23. For just $10, not bad. My Box contained a fun mix of products but my favorite items in the box were the eyeliner, nail color, and the KIND grain bar. I can't wait for May's box!
