E.L.F. Mineral Lip Gloss: Bare, Wild

As much as I like lip glosses, I have always been more of a lipstick kind of girl. Of course, I sport glosses some days but, lipsticks are what I am rocking the majority of the time. When it comes to lip glosses I can get pretty picky. I prefer them to feel comfortable on the lips-not super sticky, and I like glosses that have a special kick to them, whether it be the finish or color.

I decided to purchase two of E.L.F.'s Mineral Lip Glosses ($3.00, each), on a whim in the shades Bare, and Wild. E.L.F.'s Mineral Lip Glosses are infused with coconut oil, and vitamins A and E, which help moisturize and protect lips. And they don't contain parabens, chemical dyes, or preservatives. Love that!

Swatches from L-R: Bare, Wild

Bare: Neutral, light brown with small shimmers.
Wild: Pink/Coral with small golden shimmers.

These unscented glosses are housed in an attractive tube that contains an angled sponge tip applicator, which helps the gloss go on evenly and precisely. I am happy to report that the texture of the glosses are quite nice. They don't feel heavy on the lips, and they aren't overly sticky. These glosses have just the right amount of tackiness that not only feels comfortable on the lips, but works to prolong the wear of the gloss, too.

When applied on bare lips, both Bare and Wild give lips a hardly noticeable, faint tint of color. On my pigmented lips at least, these look pretty sheer. Although they look lovely on their own, I think these glosses are fabulous for layering over lipsticks. I like to apply Bare over my more neutral toned lipsticks, for that perfect nude lip look. My favorite combination right now is layering Bare over MAC's Blankety lipstick. The end result is super pretty! As for Wild, that gorgeousness looks amazing layered over pink and coral lipsticks. Since Wild contains golden shimmers, the shimmers add a dazzling touch to the lip color.

Overall: I am really happy with these mineral lip glosses from E.L.F. These make great layering glosses, and  I love how comfortable they feel on. I can't say for sure if these are turning me into a hardcore lip gloss lover but, what I can say is that I am enjoying using them. These lip glosses give me options when it comes to creating lip looks, and I sure love variety. I can't recommend these lip glosses enough if you are on the market for a well performing, affordable gloss. I can't wait to try the other shades in E.L.F.'s mineral lip gloss lineup!

What do you all think of E.L.F.'s Mineral Lip Glosses? Which are your favorite lip glosses to layer over lipsticks?

    1. LOL! Neither did I, until I browsed the E.L.F. mineral products on the website. These glosses intrigued me so I decided to give them a try. Luckily, I had a nice experience with these. I am definitely going to try other shades in the future :)
