Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains: Charm + Cherish

The majority of us desire long lasting lip color, and lip stains are usually the way to go, to achieve that. What's even better is a lip balm that doubles as a lip stain. Sounds like a promising combination, no? These new Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains ($7.39, each), have been getting a lot of love from the beauty community since they were released, not too long ago. I have been testing two out of the twelve available shades for almost a month now, and today I am going to be sharing my thoughts on them with you all.

Top To Bottom: Charm, Cherish
Charm, Cherish
Charm
Cherish
Cherish: Medium, creamy pink. I really love this flirty, pink color. It's a great way to add a bit of pink coloring to my lips, without having it look overdone. This one applied the smoothest of the two.

Charm: Creamy peach. This is a nice shade. It's really flattering on, and I like that it doesn't wash me out.

First, I absolutely love the packaging. These are really handy to carry around, not to mention, the sleek-looking chunky stick adds a great deal, when it comes to the cuteness factor. I also like the super convenient, twist up/down, retractable mechanism, which makes dispensing the product an easy task and, eliminates the need for sharpening.

When I first apply these balm stains, they don't exactly go on rough, but they sure aren't the smoothest to apply, either. I found this a bit odd, seeing as these look to be pretty creamy. It's probably best to have properly exfoliated and smooth lips, prior to application. If my lips had any dryness or flake bits, not only did the product cling to the dry areas, but while applying, it tugged on my lips a bit, too.

Pigmentation-wise, I like how easy it was to achieve opaque color. My lips obtained a lovely burst of color with just 1-2 swipes. Along with the the color, I also noticed that these induced a healthy looking sheen on my lips, which was really nice. Both balm stains have a peppermint fragrance that I quite enjoy. After application, the peppermint produced a pleasant cooling, and tingling sensation on the lips. The feeling-along with the scent, dissipates within 10-15 minutes so, it doesn't linger for long.

As for lasting power, I had high hopes for these. Unfortunately, my expectations were not exceeded. After an hour or two, the initial color fades into a much darker hue-which obviously is the stain. When I saw that the stain had developed, I was happy with the result and I was sure that it was going to hang on, all day. But that wasn't so. The longest wear time I get with these is 5 hours. And if I so much eat and drink with this stuff on, the wear time is even less! After the 5 hour mark, the stain on my lips have by then unevenly faded, and I am left with an unflattering stain outline around my lips. Luckily, these balm stains don't build up on the lips, so I can reapply throughout the day with ease.

Overall, I appreciate the idea behind these balm stains. Sadly, the long lasting part along with the texture, just weren't outstanding, for me. Also, I think it would have been nice if these contained an SPF of some sort. Not all is bad, though. There are a few things that I did enjoy like, the convenient packaging, the peppermint fragrance, and the pigmentation. I think these are nice to have and I do like to carry these around with me, whenever I am out and about. I will probably purchase a few more shades in the future, not because of their longevity, but for the range of colors available, that are sure to be fun to sport this summer.

What do you all think of these Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains? Which are your favorite shades from the line?
