Product Review: Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

Hey Dolls,

I hope you are all enjoying your day! Today I am going to be sharing with you my experience with the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. I have purchase the Fit Me foundation and powder as well, but I will be sharing my experience with those particular products in another, separate post.

I have been using the Fit Me concealer in #20 Sand ($7.39) for about 3 months now. I purchased it primarily for the concealment of my dark, under eye circles. It has been my go-to, everyday concealer ever since. But it does have it's few quirks.

I have tried a lot of concealers, and I have come to the conclusion that for my under eye area, it is best to use concealers that have a more smoother, creamy-liquid like consistency. I know thicker concealers are known to offer more coverage, but sometimes it can be a bit too much for my under eye area. They emphasize the fine lines under my eyes, and it noticeably creases as well. Not a very pretty sight-especially, if you suffer from dryness under the eyes like I do.

I really like the sponge tip applicator wand. It makes application a breeze and helps the concealer go on smoothly. The color sand seems to have enough yellow in it to help neutralize the brown discoloration on my eye area. For reference, in the Maybelline Fit Me foundation, I use the shade 210, and in MAC foundations, I am an NC25. I think the color sand would work best for those who have light-medium skin tones. I have light skin, and I find that sand blends right into my light skin tone.

Even though I just use this concealer on my eye area, I have applied this concealer to certain areas of my face as well, to see how it would fare up when it came to covering blemishes and acne scars. Application-wise, it went on smoothly, it did not enhance any dry spots or flakes, and it was super easy to blend. I found that for the concealment of blemishes and acne scars, it gave a light-medium coverage. Definitely not full coverage. But it did help even out my skin, and take away some of the redness.

If you have a lot to cover and are looking for full coverage, this concealer may not be what you are looking for. For those who have normal to dry skin and don't have much to cover, and are just looking to achieve some evenness, this Fit Me Concealer by Maybelline could be worth a shot.

Here are some before, during, and after pictures of the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in action, on my eye area.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in #20 Sand, Dotted On

Blended and applied all around the eye area

As you can see in the first picture, I have brown discoloration all around my eye area. I have hereditary dark circles. It is a pain to deal with, but I have come to the realization that nothing will help rid them. But what I can do is minimize their appearance, with the help of concealers. When I apply this concealer, I like to dot it on. After I dot it on, I tap and blend it into my skin, all around the eye area, using my ring finger (finger that applies the least amount of pressure).
In the final picture, you can see that it did help minimize the brown discoloration and helped brighten the eye area a little bit. Unfortunately, the coverage is just not enough for me when it comes to my dark eye circles. On a more positive note, this concealer blended really easily under my eye area, it did not cake up under the eyes, and it didn't make the fine lines under my eyes any more enhanced.

Lasting power is not too bad either. I usually set the concealer under my eyes with the Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder, and it lasts throughout the day, with very minimal fading. It does not crease throughout the day either, which is always a plus in my book.

Overall, the Fit Me Concealer by Maybelline is just OK. I like it enough that I will use it all up. But I would not consider it my HG concealer. I would not repurchase when I finish off this tube. My search for the perfect under eye concealer continues!
