Product Review: N.Y.C. Blushable Creme Stick in Plaza Pink

Hey Lovelies!

How is your Wednesday going for you all? It is super hot here in New York, so I have decided to take it easy today and hang out in mi casa for the day.

I have always been one to shy away from Cream blushes. I always thought that they were to tricky to apply on the cheeks, and I was worried about the possibility of me over-applying (I am clumsy like that sometimes when it comes to products I don't know nothing about LOL!). I was at my local Duane Reade store a few days ago and I saw these Blushable Creme Sticks by N.Y.C. and for $3.99, I could not help picking one up to try. If I wanted to start venturing into the world of cream blushes, what better way to start than with an affordable drugstore product right? I purchased the shade Plaza Pink.

If I had to describe the color of plaza pink I would say that it is a pink with a hint of coral in it. This blush does contain a shimmery sheen to it but it is not very prominent once on the cheeks. When I first applied this blush I wanted to see how it would look applied on top of liquid and loose mineral foundation. I am proud to say that it was very easy to apply in both foundation cases.

I love how versatile and easy it is to apply this blush. Many like applying with fingers, but I prefer applying this cream blush with a small duo fibre brush like my MAC 188, or a long handled kabuki brush. I just apply some product on the apples of my cheeks, and then I take my brush and blend away. I noticed that with this product, a bit goes a long way-color pay off is amazing. But for those who want a more pop of color, the color is buildable. Plaza Pink gives my cheeks a very pretty, subtle dewy look to them. I love that this cream blush does not feel sticky on my skin. It feels very smooth-almost like a powder blush would.

As for lasting power, as with all cream blushes if you want the maximum lasting power it would be best to apply a powdered blush on top of the cream blush. But, I find that the staying power is pretty good with this product. I had plaza pink on yesterday-mind you it was a humid, and hot day out, and it lasted pretty good. I had this cream blush on for a good 8 hours and the color did not fade away during the day. The only problem I had with this blush is that since my face is very oily-especially now that it is summer, this blush ends up looking very oily on me as the hours go by. But I am sure this is my skin's fault, not the product. But no worries, just make sure you have a setting, translucent powder on hand and this problem goes away in no time.

Pros:
1. Affordable
2. Great Pigmentation
3. Quick and easy to apply with either fingers, or a brush
4. Gives cheeks a dewy, healthy look to them
5. Great, portable packaging-love the twist up applicator stick
6. Has not caused breakouts
7. Unscented
8. Great Lasting power
9.Product is very creamy, and applies smoothly-I even think it would be great for those with dry skin
10. Oil-Free

Cons:
1. May be a bit of a problem for those with oily skin-translucent powder is our best friend!

Overall, I love this blushable creme stick by N.Y.C. Cosmetics, and I am definitely going to purchase other shades as well. I think this blush would be amazing for the winter time as well, when my skin becomes a bit drier. I think I have officially entered the wonderful world of cream blush. And I am never going to look back.
