Product Review: got2b Guardian Angel 425 Degrees F Heat Protect 'N Blow Out

Hey Dolls! Happy Wednesday!

I am sure we all know by now that it is super important to apply heat protector to the hair prior to blow drying, flat ironing, curl ironing, etc... in order to avoid frying our hair, and to lessen the heat damage we cause to it.

I am always on the lookout for hair products that will help me when it comes to keeping my hair, healthy. I don't really apply too much heat to my hair a week. Believe it or not, once a week I blow dry and flat iron my hair and that's it! For the remainder of the week I do not flat iron it again or anything...I just let it flow..lol.

I spotted the got2b Guardian Angel 425 Degrees F Heat Protect 'N Blowout ($6.69 above-click image for larger view) at my local CVS drugstore and decided to try it out. There are also 2 more additions to the heat protector series from got2b Guardian Angel-Heat Protect and Flatten (for flat iron heat protection) and Heat Protect and Curl (for curling iron heat protection). I decided to purchase the blow drying protect because it's what I feel does the most damage to my hair (I could be wrong, correct me if I am wrong) so the true question here is, did I love it? Read on to find out!

Here is what this products claims to do (from the got2b website)

1. It contains a proven formula that protects against 425 Degrees F heat
2. Protects hair and makes it easier for it to be managed
3. It provides shine

I have been using this heat protector for about 1 year now (yes...very long time) and I do like it, but I don't love it. This to me is just a basic product...I don't think this product is what keeps my hair healthy and shiny. I spray this lightly on my damp hair before I blow dry, making sure to concentrate mostly on my dry ends. I immediately notice the chemical smell this contains. It is not too bad, but I am not fond of it and I don't find it pleasant. I also notice that after I blow dry a section of hair dry, that section smells kind of funky, not OMG my hair stinks funky...let's just say that my hair does not smell like my shampoo and conditioner anymore.

On a positive note, I do like that the spray nozzle never gets stuck on me Yay! And the bottle is big (6.8 FL OZ) so this products should last awhile.

Pros:
1. Affordable
2. Bottle is a good size, should last a long time
3. Spray Nozzle never gets gunked up and stuck

Cons:
1. Not a pleasant smell
2. Does not make my hair shiny
3. Gives my hair an odd smell to it

Overall, I would not re-purchase this product again. I will use it until I finish it (which is going to be very soon) but I think I am going to go back to the much highly raved about TREsemme' Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray. Now that is some good stuff!

Disclaimer: I purchased this product with my own money for my personal use. I am not affiliated with any of the companies mentioned above.

  1. I'm always on the lookout for good heat sprays! I just got a new one from ulta I can't wait to try out. I personally use something for blowdrying and flatironing bc I usually set my flatiron super high to get it so straight, but luckily I'm like you, once a week & let it go lol
