Fashion Of The Day: Urban Chic

Hey Lovelies!

Happy Halloween! Did you guys party it up last night or do you have plans for today? I didn't end up doing anything this year for Halloween. I have been so occupied with school lately that it just drained the Halloween mood outta me LOL! But it's OK, there is always next year :) What did you guys dress up as? Let me know in the comments section please, I would love to hear!

Yesterday I went to Soho with the hub to do a bit of shopping. I am so excited because I scored a great pair of skinny cargo pants from Old Navy for under $13! Click HERE to check them out. I got them in the grey color, and I was super bummed because they were not available at the Old Navy store in the hunter/forest green color that I wanted-all sold out, boo :( I am contemplating on ordering them online because I really love the fit, and they are super comfy as well. Online the pants retail for $34.50, but I think if you check Old Navy stores you can find them on sale. I can't wait to do a fashion of the day post wearing them. What do you all think of cargos?

For my outfit yesterday, I was going for an urban, chic look. I incorporated some neutral colors in there as well as basic black. I love olive/green colors for the season, so I wore some distressed olive skinny jeans from Forever 21-click HERE to check them out, that I got a few weeks ago and paired it with my new favorite tan brown western boots. I got the boots for $20 bucks at place where they have so many shoes for really great prices. Love them! And it was pretty chilly yesterday so, I just threw on a floral print scarf, and an H&M jacket.

Here are some pictures of my look, and thank you all for stopping by!

Product Review: E.L.F. The Beauty Encyclopedia-Smoky Eyes Edition

TGIF!

I hope you all are having a great day :) I stopped by Target after school yesterday and what do you know? I purchased another E.L.F. limited edition? set. LOL! I seriously think I am on an E.L.F. kick lately. But I ended up purchasing one of their beauty books (love these!) in the Smoky eyes edition ($5.00). This eye palette contains a combination of 12 matte, and shimmered eye shadows, a mini brightening black eyeliner pencil, and a double-ended sponge tip applicator. The set also includes very handy how-to instructions for creating the perfect smoky eye as well as a mirror. I believe this set is limited edition and part of the new holiday collection because on the packaging there are some really pretty snowflakes. I also spotted the neutral eyes beauty book, but I decided to skip it because I have pretty similar colors to it. But I don't know. I may go back next week and pick that up.

In case you are all wondering, this eyeshadow palette from E.L.F. from what I can tell, does not contain the same shadows as their back to school smoky eye kit. Click HERE to check out some pics of that one and my review on it. What intrigued me about this eye kit was the inclusion of two lovely colors-the bright blue, and the bright purple. I am all for bright colors! Can't get enough of them. But I was left a tad bit disappointed. Before I explain, check out some pictures and swatches (click all images to enlarge).

E.L.F. Beauty Encyclopedia Smoky Eyes Edition

With Flash

Natural Light, No Flash

1. Bright champagne/cream with shimmer
2.  Matte cream
3. Light Pink with shimmer
4. Silver with shimmer/frost

Second Row-left to right:

2. Light blue with fine shimmer
3. Medium Purple matte
4. Medium Grey with shimmer

Third Row-left to right:
1. Dark Grey/Olive with gold shimmer
2. Dark Navy Blue matte
3. Medium Brown matte
4. Black matte

Pros:
1. Affordable
2. Great versatility of colors
3. Smooth texture
4. Blend really easily
5. I love the inclusion of step by step instructions, as I would think this would be helpful for those who are new to applying shadows.
6. You get a generous amount of shadow
7. E.L.F. does not test on animals and they are cruelty free

Cons:

1. I was really disappointed with the pigmentation of this eyeshadow set. I thought since I had so much luck with pigmentation in the back to school beauty book I purchased a few months back, I thought I would experience the same with this beauty encyclopedia. That was not the case for me. The colors are all gorgeous but pigmentation-wise, it just didn't do it for me. I noticed I had to pack on a ton of product in order to get it to show up on me a bit. I had really high hopes for the pretty bright blue one and the purple, but those just gave me sheer, light washes of the color.

2. The shimmery/frosty colored shadows don't even show up on me! All that remains on my eyes are just a whole bunch of shimmers.

3. I noticed that I have to be careful when I blend these shadows, and not over-blend. Because if I do, I sort of lose some of the color (if there is even any?) causing me to pack on some more of the color.

4. Even the dark colors left me wanting more. They did not go on super dark and pigmented like I expected them to. And I am surprised because the matte black looked like it was going to pack a whole lotta punch to it. But alas, that one disappointed me to.

As with all eye shadows, make sure to apply an eyeshadow primer before applying these shadows as the colors may crease and fade. As for the pencil liner and sponge tip applicator, I don't really use any of them. But the black pencil liner does swatch pretty pigmented. Overall, I think this eyeshadow kit is nice to have if you are a fan of smooth textured, and easily blend-able shadows that give soft washes of color. But for a person like me, who likes a bit of strong, and bright pigmentation to their shadow colors, I would say skip this one.

Do any of you have this beauty encyclopedia eyeshadow book from E.L.F. ? What do you all think of it? Let me know in the comments section lovelies!

Nail Of The Day: Color Club With Abandon + E.L.F. Golden Goddess

Can you all believe that Halloween is this Sunday? I feel like October flew by! But I am not complaining, because this means that Thanksgiving and Christmas is creeping closer and closer upon us :)

Here is the mani that I am rocking on my nails this week. I wanted to see how the E.L.F. polishes from the nail polish trio set performed layered over other colors. Click HERE to check out pictures, swatches, and first impressions. I chose to layer E.L.F. Golden Goddess (gold shimmer/holographic glitter) over Color Club's With Abandon nail polish which is a gorgeous deep brown that contains bronze fine shimmer.

I loved the outcome! I could not stop starring at my nails. Golden Goddess layered beautifully over With Abandon and I think it sort of gave my nails an antique look to them. Love! I used 2 coats of With Abandon, then I followed by applying 2 coats of Golden Goddess. Lastly, I added one clear top coat over because my nails looked pretty matte and dull. I am not such a fan of the matte nail look. I love my manis to have lots of shine to them :) I want to note that I have been wearing this on my nails for about 3 days and as far as chipping and lasting power goes, so far so good. Just some tip wear but I think that is usual for me because I have not yet invested in a good top coat LOL! I am on it!

Here are some pictures, Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all like it, and please pardon my messy nail application. I must mention that the pictures don't do this combo any justice. It looks way cooler in person. Stay tuned for more nail of the day posts using the E.L.F. nail polish trio. (click all images to enlarge)

With clear top coat-look at those fun sparkles/shimmers!

Beauty Crave

Hey Dolls!

I hope your day is off to a great start :)

Here is a beauty crave post in where I show you all, items I am lusting for. Come beauty crave along with me!

How gorgeous is this nail polish from Deborah Lippmann? I know that when it comes to opaque glitter polishes, Deborah Lippman does not dissapoint. Across The Universe is a beautiful nail color that includes blue and green glitter. I know $18 may be a bit steep for a nail polish but how can you resist this one? It's too pretty, and I am sure it goes on very opaqe as well.

2. Urban Decay book Of Shadows Vol. 3 ($54.00)

I honestly think that Urban Decay has some of the best eyeshadow palettes out there. Their eyeshadows are soft, blend like a dream, and come in many fun and wearable colors. This eyeshadow kit contains 16 gorgeous eyeshadow shades, 2 glide-On Eye Pencils in Random (purple) and the famous Zero (black), as well as a mini sized of the original Urban Decay Primer Potion (which is fab by the way!). I also really like the packaging as well. I love the festive pop up art.

3. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer ($16.50)

I have been reading nothing but great things about the performance of MAC's latest concealer. I have been searching high and low for a good potential full coverage concealer that will help minimize the appearance of my dark under eye circles. This may be it! I definitely want to try this new concealer very soon, especially since it claims that the lasting power is up to 15 hours! I have the new Pro Longwear Foundation and I am loving it so far-stay tuned for a review coming soon. So I have really high hopes for this concealer! Have any of you tried it? What do you all think of it?

4. Dior 'Smoky Mania' Eyeshadow Duo ($38.00)

Even Though I have never given into purchasing super high end luxury makeup, I can't deny that it has never been on my mind. I usually think some of the stuff is outrageously priced, but I guess it doesn't hurt to treat yourself once in awhile right? This limited edition eyeshadow duo is an item I would love to have because it contains your two basic colors that instantly help create a shimmery, sexy, smoky eye-black and dark grey. Can't go wrong with that. Not to mention the adorable Dior logo printed on the shadow-lovely! I envision this eyeshadow duo working great for the holiday parties coming up.

5. Bare Escentuals All Wrapped Up Eye Collection ($34.00)

Can't you all tell I am in love with eye shadows LOL! Here is another eyeshadow kit that I am loving. I do own a few eyeshadow from Bare Escentuals and I really love them. You can apply them dry for a softer look to the eye, or apply them wet to make the colors pop out more and create a more dramatic look. I love how easily blend-able their eye shadows are and it does not hurt that these shadows are free of parabens, sunthetic dyes, sulfates, and synthetic fragrances. This six piece eyeshadow kit would make a great gift for a makeup-loving friend. The holidays are coming! I am so excited :) Don't you all feel the holiday spirit already? Or is it just me? LOL!

See anything you like?

Product Review: E.L.F. Nail Polish Trio

Hey Lovelies!

After class on Thursday, I decided to stop by the local Target near my school. I wanted to check out if they had any E.L.F. products since they usually don't every time I stop by. Lucky for me, this time they did! But, the only things on display from E.L.F. were the new holiday sets. There were lots of cute stuff, like lip gloss sets, eyeshadow sets, eyeliner sets, and the sort. But to tell you all the truth, all but one set did not really stand out to me. I only picked up one set from E.L.F. and it was the Nail Polish trio ($3.00). I checked out the E.L.F. Website and I did not spot this set of three festive holiday polishes. But each of the three colors are available individually for $1.00 each (click here to check them out), or you can find them at your local Target and the Target website HERE.

I was really excited about this nail polish trio from E.L.F. It contained pretty glitters, and the colors were perfect for the holidays. I am all about sparkles! (click all images to enlarge)

Left To Right: Twinkle, Golden Goddess, Cranberry

Twinkle

Twinkle-3 coats

Twinkle is a pretty clear based glitter polish. The glitter contains sparkles of aqua and orange by what I can make of it. The glitters are very fine and they do not feel rough or gritty on the nails once applied. This polish dries matte, and I think it would look best layered over another one but I would suggest applying 3-4 coats to get a semi-opaque glitter. I am sure this glitter would add a nice hint of sparkle to the polish you apply it over to. But to me, it's not a WOW! glitter polish. I am sure there are much better, and more opaque glitters out there.

Golden Goddess

Golden Goddess-3 coats

Golden Goddess is another clear based shimmer/glitter that contains holographic? gold glitter. You see sparkles of green, red, purple, and gold. This one is really interesting to me because you get a whole lot of pretty colors. Along with the gold shimmers in the polish, you also get some chunky glitter to add on top of that as well. Can we say fun in a bottle? The glitters don't feel gritty and rough on the nails. Also, when worn alone I see this leaves behind sort of a golden/yellow cast on the nails and this dries to a matte finish. I bet this one would look gorgeous layered over a red or a green polish!

Cranberry

Cranberry-3 coats

Cranberry is a gorgeous cherry red shimmer. You may not be able to tell by the picture, but in person the bottle shows that this red contains lots of red based shimmers. But I was a bit underwhelmed with Cranberry once I applied it on my nails. By the way, this color is a bit sheer at just one coat. I suggest doing 2-3 coats of this one. Once I got it on my nails I felt as if all the shimmer was drowned in the polish. Maybe this was because the shimmers were the same color as the base of the polish? I don't know, but I am not too crazy about this color. It seems a bit dull to me. Nothing special about it. A clear top coat is definitely needed with cranberry if you want to add some shine to the color as this color also dries matte like the other two.

Overall, I think this nail polish trio set from E.L.F. is pretty cute. Great for the holidays and I am sure I will have loads of fun layering the glitters over other nail colors. When I do, I will be sure to post them here. I am happy to report that drying time on all of these was really fast. Application-wise, They all dry to a matte finish, and I found that they were all very easy to apply even though I was not too fond of the flimsy nail brush. But for the $3.00 price, I can overlook that teeny factor. Also, the formula on these was kind of watery/runny. But it did not really bother me much.

Have any of you spotted this kit yet or any other E.L.F. holiday sets at your local Target? Have this set? What do you all think of it? Let me know in the comments section!

Fashion Crave: Autumn Casual

Autumn Weekend chic

I think it is safe to say that Autumn has officially arrived here in NYC. And I couldn't be any happier about it. I am super excited to play around and experiment some more when it comes to my fall wardrobe. An item I am most excited about this fall is the military trend. I think olives, browns, and the like are beautiful colors to wear and I think they flatter everyone. I purchased a pair of Olive colored jeans from Forever 21 and I can't wait to wear them. I will be sure to do an outfit of the day post when I do get the chance to have at 'em.

Here is a fashion post in where-with the help of Polyvore, I put together a military-inspired autumn look that I think would be perfect for a day when one wants to be laid back while being put together.

1. deLiAs  Addison Moto Jacket ($55.50)

Leather Jackets are a must in everyone's wardrobe. A great tip I have learned is that a leather jacket adds a certain edge to your look, and it is just one of those pieces that are very versatile, and just works with everything. You can dress it for day with a casual tee or jeans, or for night with a dress or skirt.

2. Metropark Olive Raglan Tee ($39.00)

Basic tees are one of my favorite items to wear all year round. They come in many fun colors, they are comfortable and very lightweight.

3. Old Navy Women's Ankle-Zip Skinny Cargos ($22.00)

Could these Old Navy Cargos be a possible dupe for the much raved about, and oh so popular J Brand cargo pants that are pretty similar to these? I don't know for sure, because I don't own either but, I tend to look for clothing items that are in my price range LOL! And these Old Navy ones are as close as I can get. I love the military inspired olive color and not to mention the adorable ankle zippers-which I think give these pants some life to them besides just being a solid, plain olive colored pant.

4. Aldo Cassar ($89.98)

Ankle booties are very in this fall my friends. Well, I guess they never left did they? Besides your basic, sexy black booties, a new boot style has everybody in the fashion world buzzing. Laced-up booties are the ideal shoes for fall. I think they look amazing with anything. You name it, jeans, skirts, dresses, the possibilities are endless when it comes to laced-up booties. I also think the ones with chunky, short heels would be perfect to add a bit of height to a frame without killing your feet in the process.

What are your must have Autumn items in your closet? Any trends that you are excited for? Let me know in the comments section lovelies!

Product Rave: Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm

Hey Lovelies!

I hope you are all enjoying this lovely Saturday. I wanted to let you all know about my latest obsession. Now, I have the driest lips in town! I have tried everything from Blistex, to the famous Carmex. But none of those really do much for me in terms of helping to keep my lips soft and moisturized. The one thing I don't quite comprehend is that these lips products work great for the first few days/weeks I use them, but the more and more I use these lip products, the dryer and flakier my lips get. I wanted to try something new, something I would never think of using for myself when it comes to lip care. Who would have thought my hubby hub hub, had what I had been searching for?

Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm

Let me introduce you all to the Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm ($7.00). When Jonathan and I stop by Sephora we always browse the Jack Black section, which consists of men's grooming and skin care products.  The hub swears by this lip balm when it comes to keeping his lips soft and moisturized. And I can see and feel why. This is perfection in a squeeze tube. I have the Lemon and Chamomile scent and it is divine. Smells so good! It contains antioxidants such as vitamin E and green tea extract, avocado oil, which help keep the lips moisturized no matter what the weather condition. Best of all...this lip balm has an SPF of 25 which blocks UVA and UVB rays! Not to mention this product is not tested on animals (cruelty free-YAY!) and it does not contain harsh chemicals such as sulfates, synthetic dyes, and synthetic fragrances.

I love the hygienic squeeze tube packaging, and the slanted tip applicator. The product feels really great on my lips and it lasts for hours-unlike other lip products that fade away pretty quickly and you have to constantly keep reapplying. The consistency is sort of like a thick, creamy clear gel that leaves a subtle shine on the lips. When I have on this lip balm by Jack Black, I notice that my lips look and feel so much healthier than they did before. Love! I know some may think that $7.00 is a bit too much for a lip balm, but believe me- a little goes a long way, and this is a product that will change the look and feel of your lips!

Have any of you tried this lip balm from Jack Black? What do you all think of it? Ever found beauty discoveries in men's skin care products? Let me know in the comments section!

Product Review: E.L.F. Studio Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths

Hey Lovelies!

I stopped by Target the other day and I decided (naturally) to go to the cosmetics section to check out if the E.L.F. display had some new products. Every time I go to my local Target store, the E.L.F. display is practically empty, and the studio line sells out really fast. To my surprise, this time there were lots more new E.L.F. goodies for me to get, YAY!

I picked up a few things that I really wanted to try, so stay tuned for upcoming reviews. My first E.L.F. review comes from their studio line and it's the E.L.F. Studio Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths ($3.00). I love trying new makeup remover wipes, so I just had to give these a go. (Click all images to enlarge)

E.L.F. Studio Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths

Flip top open lid with sticker

Back of the packaging

Pros:
1. The cloths contain Aloe Vera extract which is used to help with moisturizing the skin. I love products that have Aloe Vera in them because I find that this ingredient is soothing to my skin.
2. I love the sleek black packaging, and the snap open/close snap on lid. This feature helps the cloths stay moisturized longer and not dry out as opposed to packaging that only contain the open/close sticker.
3. The scent on these wipes smells very fresh and clean. It is not an offensive smell at all. But not to worry, the scent dissipates in a matter of 2-3 minutes once your face is dry after using the cloths.
4. The cloths have not caused my sensitive, acne prone skin to react. So I would say that these cloths are gentle. (E.L.F. claims that these "gentle cloths are soft and soothing for even the most sensitive skin".
5. The cloths are really smooth and don't feel rough or scratchy on my skin.
6. Removes my face makeup efficiently.
7. Great affordable price-$3.00 for 20 cloths
8. Does not leave my face feeling sticky. After I use the cloths, my skin is left feeling smooth.
9. E.L.F. does not test on animals

Cons:
1. These cloths do not remove my mascara very well. I find that mascara residue still lingers on my lashes, and even on my lower lash line.
2. I would not advise anyone to use these cloths to remove eye makeup. These sting my eyes! Although I did use it to see how these fare up when it comes to removing eye makeup, I learned my lesson and advise everybody to use a separate eye makeup remover to remove your eye makeup, and just stick to removing your face makeup when it comes to these cloths.
3. Although these cloths remove my face makeup pretty well, I contribute this to my use of light weight makeup. For everyday, I usually just apply mineral foundation, and minimal blush/bronzer. I think these cloths would not work so well in removing heavy makeup.

Overall, I do like these cloths but I don't think I would repurchase these.I do recommend these for those who use minimal makeup and are looking for something quick and easy to take it all off.

Have any of you tried these cleansing cloths from E.L.F. Studio? Let me know in the comments section, I would love to know what you all think of them.

Beauty Crave: Breast Cancer Awareness Edition!

Hey Dolls!

As you are all aware, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. I am happy to see companies do their part and contribute proceeds from certain items to breast cancer foundations. The more we donate, the better! I strongly believe that one day a cure will be found :)

Here are a few items from Sephora that are all about doing good!

I have personally never gotten my hands on a ghd flat iron. But I hear they are superb in performance! How adorable is the iron design? If that is not doing it for you, how about the inclusion of a super cute heat resistant bag? Ahhh too much cuteness! LOL! Not to mention the versatility this iron has. You can curl, straighten, flip, or create waves in your hair-just by using this one tool. A portion of all the proceeds from the sale of this ghd iron will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

I have realized that I have never actually invested in a good eyelash curler. And the ones I have, don't always impress me much. I like the fact that this eyelash curler is pinch proof, and it is made of high quality stainless steel. I must admit though, I am pretty lazy when it comes to curling my lashes. I just apply mascara and go. But I guess I gotta give these babies some more length, curl and love. Sephora is going to donate $1.00 from the sale of this eyelash curler to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

I am all about makeup palettes. This one by Sephora contains 8 eye shadows, four lip glosses, and one blush. The products look super pigmented and it's super amazing that you get all of this for just $15.00! I am sure this makeup palette will come in handy when you have to take your makeup on the go. Sephora is going to donate $1.00 from the sale of this makeup palette to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

I have the driest and most unmanageable hair you can imagine! I am all for finding hair treatments that help with all of my hair dilemma. This hair treatment from Ojon has shown that it improves the condition of damaged and dry hair after just one use! How cool is that? And it's formulated without parabens, sulfates, and all that yucky stuff our hair and bodies could do without. Have any of you tried this hair treatment from Ojon? I would love to know. $5.00 (up to a maximum of $35,000) from the purchase of the hair treatment will be donated to The Breast cancer Research Foundation.

I know many are fans of this oh so popular moisturizing lotion from Clinique. This super size bottle is sure to last a long time. Dramatically Different moisturizer helps to hydrate the skin and is recommended for those with dry and combination skin. Not to mention this super size lotion comes with an adorable key ring that contains pretty charms. Clinique will donate $10.00 from the sale of this moisturizer to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Stay Lovely Darlings!

MAC Venomous Villains: Part 2-Bad Fairy Nail Lacquer and Her Own Devices Beauty Powder

Hey Chicas!

I hope you are all enjoying your day so far! As promised, here is part two of what I picked up from MAC's latest collection-Venomous Villains. To see part one featuring the lipsticks, click HERE. (Click all images to enlarge)

Bad Fairy

Bad Fairy

Bad Fairy-Natural light, 3 coats

Bad Fairy-Natural light with a bit of shine from the sun, 3 coats

Bad Fairy nail lacquer ($13.00) was part of the Maleficent collection. There were a total of three polishes that were released with the collection, but the other two did not pique my interest like Bad Fairy did. I knew I had to have it, as I had nothing of the sort in my collection. Bad Fairy is a gorgeous magenta/burnt orange duo chrome with a pearled and shimmery finish. This polish is very interesting because in some lights you see the burnt orange, but then in others you can see the magenta color. This polish looks best in natural lighting-I think that way you can appreciate it more since it shines so beautifully that way, and you can truly see it's effects. Although this polish contains lots of shimmers, the formula does not feel gritty and rough on the nails at all. On the contrary, my nails were super smooth. Application was a breeze with Bad Fairy. One coat was a bit sheer, two coats gave me a semi-opaque nail, but three coats really gave me the opaque look I was going for. I am happy to report that I experienced no air bubbles and drying time was very speedy! Even though Bad Fairy is a gorgeous polish that everybody should own in their stash if they can still get their hands on it, I do have one gripe about it. After I removed Bad Fairy from all of my nails with a cotton ball and nail polish remover, my hands were a glittery mess! But it's nothing a little hand wash with soap and water can't fix.
I want to mention that I have been reading that lots of people have been having problems with the nail polish brush. Luckily, my brush was neat and it did not contain any sparse hairs, so application was smooth.

Her Own Devices Beauty Powder

Her Own Devices Beauty Powder

Her Own Devices Beauty Powder

Her Own Devices Beauty Powder

Her Own Devices Beauty Powder ($25.00) was released with the Cruella de vil collection. First of all, I love the packaging! It's fun, while being sleek at the same time. Not to mention that this compact contains a handy mirror! How awesome is that? Her Own Devices is a pretty neutral nude color with a hint of peach. There is a soft pearl-like finish (not shimmery) in this powder, but it is not really prominent on my cheeks. I knew I would like Her Own Devices because I wanted something natural looking that would work for me on those days where I don't want to fuss too much with my makeup. I have been wearing Her Own Devices Beauty Powder everyday since I got it, and I really love it so far! Works wonders for neutral looks for the daytime. I know many say that MAC beauty powders are not as pigmented as their other products but I am sure the other beauty powders released with this collection are nicely pigmented. I will say that Her Own Devices is a bit sheer on me. I have to apply about 2-3 layers to get it to show up on my cheeks. But I don't mind this because, I prefer something a bit toned down for the day. I think this beauty powder would work best for those who have fair to light skin tones, as I would assume that Her Own Devices could appear to be a bit sheer for medium to deep skin beauties.

I hope you all enjoyed my MAC Venomous Villains haul. Thanks for stopping by lovelies!

MAC Venomous Villains: Part 1- Lipsticks-Heartless, Toxic Tale, Innocence, Beware!

Hey Dolls!

How is everything going with you all? I hope you are all doing well. Finally, I have some free time to show you all what I purchased from MAC's latest collection-Venomous Villains. First, and foremost I want to say that I am going to be splitting up this Venomous Villains haul post into 2 sections. The reason being is because I kind of went crazy with pictures and swatches, and it is very picture heavy LOL! I did not get much from the collection-just 5 items. Three lipsticks, one beauty powder, and a nail polish. I may go back to get a few more things-I don't know, we shall see. I love Disney characters and I was so excited about this collection that was released. I am very happy with the items I piked up, and not to mention the sleek packaging. I am loving the shiny black with the villain characters! (Click All Images for Enlargement).

For part one of the Venomous Villains post, I will show you all the three lipsticks I picked up.

Heartless (Natural Light-No flash)

Heartless (No Flash)

Heartless is from the Cruella de vil collection. I realized I have never owned a pretty, basic red lipstick from MAC and I decided to start with Heartless. Heartless is a gorgeous medium toned red that I think would be safe to say, would be suitable for all skin tones. I think you can't go wrong with your everyday, basic red. I love that the formula is amplified-feels creamy and smooth on the lips. My lip swatch picture does not do Heartless justice. It is much more deeper, and redder than the picture shows. In the lip picture above it appears a bit orange. But trust me, it's very red indeed. It is not an "in your face" kind of red that is screaming for attention. I don't know, I guess I was kind of hopping that it would be a bit brighter once on my lips as I am a fan of bright lipsticks. But I am happy to have this red lipstick in my collection. I can't wait to pair it with smoky cat eyes. Very retro chic!

Toxic Tale (Natural Light-No flash)

Toxic Tale (Natural Light)

Toxic Tale is from the Evil Queen collection. I saw swatches of Toxic Tale online before I purchased it and I knew I had to have it! I love bright lippies and Toxic Tale did not disappoint. Toxic Tale is a very bright coral color. I think I see a little, tiny hint of red maybe? I could be wrong. I am not very experienced when it comes to describing exact colors LOL! This is an opaque satin lipstick which feels nice on my lips-not drying. I thought Toxic Tale was similar to Impassioned lipstick-also by MAC. But Impassioned has more pink in it, and Toxic Tale has much more coral in it.

Innocence, Beware! (Natural Light-No Flash)

Innocence, Beware! (Natural Light)

Innocence, Beware! also from the Cruella de vil collection, is a must have item if you are a fan of nude colored lipsticks. I love nude lipsticks, as much as I love brights. I was worried that Innocence, Beware! would wash me out but believe it or not, it looks amazing on. It's one of those kind of nude lipsticks that looks natural on you without giving you the appearance of corpse lips LOL! Innocence, Beware! falls in between a soft pink with a tiny hint of beige mixed in. I love how this gives my lips a shiny look to them-I am guessing it's the cremesheen formulation that does this. And in case if any of you are wondering if Innocence, Beware! is similar to Myth lipstick by MAC, it's definitely not. Myth has a lot more pale beige in it, while Innocence, Beware! has more pink tones in it. I have been wearing Innocence, Beware! quite frequently and I think I want to go back to MAC and try and get a back-up of this LOL!

Stay tuned for Part 2 of the MAC Venomous Villains series! Thank You all for stopping by, and let me know if any of you picked up anything from the collection, or are planning to!
