Look Of The Day: Soft Smokey Purples

Hey Dolls!

Here is my latest look of the day which consists of a soft smokey purple eye (but I think it is appropriate for day time). For this look, I used the new Wet n' Wild eyeshadow palette in Lust-check out the post below this one for my full review on it.

I am loving this Wet n' Wild palette, and I can't wait to come up with more looks using it. Here are some pictures of the look and products used listed below. Oh by the way, I also want to mention that I used for the first time the new Maybelline Lasting Drama By Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black. Stay tuned for a review on that coming soon.

Product Review: Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eye Shadow Palette in Lust

Hey Dolls!

I hope your Tuesday is off to a great start. I went to my local Duane Reade drugstore recently and checked out the new Wet n' Wild products that were recently released. Wet n' Wild really did it up as far as packaging goes. They revamped the line, and I am loving it!

I have been reading and hearing rave reviews on the new Wet n' Wild eye shadow palettes. I saw the palette colors in the display and they all looked fab. But for my first purchase, I decided on the eyeshadow palette in lust. Lust comes with six gorgeous shades-three mattes and three shimmers. I love how the colors coordinate beautifully together and the pigment these babies bring are amazing! It also comes with a sponge and brush applicator.

Wet n' Wild Eyeshadow Palette in Lust ($4.99)

Back of the palette

Align Center

1. Soft, matte baby pink (great for a highlight or all over lid color)
2. Soft nude, with fine, small silver shimmers (great for highlighting)
3. Matte eggplant purple (great for outer V, or crease)
4. Frosty medium green with silver shimmers (great for crease or all over lid)
5. Matte dark purple/brown (great for outer V, or crease)
6. Frosty medium brown with fine, gold shimmer (great for crease and outer V)

(Swatches in same order as in the palette)

Pros:
1. Very affordable palette, with a nice variety to choose from. I am sure everybody can find one they like.
2. Highly pigmented shades, so a little bit of product goes a long way
3. The colors last vibrant on my lids (very minimal creasing-make sure you use a good base beforehand)
4. I love how there is a mixture of mattes and shimmers that are included in the palette.
5. These shadows are very easy to blend
6. Colors coordinate well together
7. Great versatile palette for creating soft day eyes, or sexy smokey eyes for a night out
8. I love how on the back of the palette, there is an illustration that shows where the brow bone, crease, and eyelid are on the eyes. This is a great palette for those who are starting out with makeup application.

Cons:
1. I am not too fond of the plastic packaging. I am scared that if I drop the palette, everything will shatter to pieces. Yikes!

Overall, I am loving the Lust eyeshadow palette by Wet n' Wild. I am def going to be purchasing more (hopefully all! LOL!). I can't also wait to try more of their new items as well. I think that with this, you are definitely getting a bang for your buck. Love it!

Have any of you tried these new eyeshadow palettes by wet n' wild? want to? Love them, hate them? I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts in the comments section.

Nail Of The Day: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Wet Cement

Hey Dolls!

I wanted to show you all what is on my nails today. I am wearing Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear nail polish in Wet Cement ($2.99) which is a beautiful creamy cool gray color that amazes me! I never thought that I would wear gray nail polish, or let alone think it would be a flattering color on me. But what do you know? I love it, and I can honestly say that it is one of my new favorite polishes I own right now. This is definitely a new staple color for me.

I have only tried Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear nail polish in Clear. I use that one on days where I just don't want color on my nails so I paint them clear. I also use it as a top coat. Leaves my nails very shiny and polished. So this is my first official Xtreme Wear color polish and I love it...and I am definitely going to be buying more. They come in a bunch of fun different colors, and at $2.99 I am loving the price.

I
loved the texture of this polish. It is creamy and smooth, and application was super easy, brush is easy to handle, drying time was fast, no streaks, got an even opaque look at 2 coats (but I applied 3 coats because I like my nail colors to look extra-opaque). Gosh, I just can't seem to find anything I didn't like about polish LOL! Have any of you tried Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear polish? Any colors you recommend? Let me know in the comments section, I want to hear your thoughts :)

Top 5 Favorite Drugstore Buys!

Hey Dolls! I hope all is well :)

I wanted to share with you all my top 5 favorite drugstore staple beauty bargains-from foundations to mascara...I got you covered when you all go shopping for beauty items on your next drugstore trip LOL!

Foundation: Revlon Photoready ($13.99)
I love this liquid foundation. Not only does it feel very light on my skin, it is also oil-free and fragrance free. Did I mention that this foundation has an awesome pump? A quality that a lot of foundation packaging lacks. To get more info about Revlon Photoready and to read my review on it as well as see some swatches, click HERE.

Mascara: Cover Girl Lash Blast ($7.99) This is hands down my HG mascara and I can not talk about it enough! It separates my lashes without clumping them and gives my lashes length and volume like no other mascara has. I love the plastic giant brush-it's genius. Check out more of my praise for Lash Blast HERE.

Liquid Eyeliner- Wet n' Wild Mega Liner in Turquoise ($2.99)
This is the eyeliner for you if you want a pop of bright color on your lids. I love the brush of this liner as it makes for easy application and the pigmentation is amazing for a drugstore liner. You know how you have to go over the same line 10 times to get the color to show up? Don't worry, you wont experience that here. Love!

Lipstick: Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Airy Fairy ($5.29) This lipstick by Rimmel is amazing! This is like the perfect nude lipstick. I love how this lipstick does not dry out my lips at all. It is very moisturizing and I love the fruity smell too. Click HERE to read my full review on it, as well as some swatches.

Makeup Remover Wipes: Garnier Nutritioniste Nutri-Pure Detoxifying Wet Cleansing Towelettes, Pack of 25 ($6.49)
These are my HG makeup remover wipes. These wipes are oil-free, contains vitamin E, vitamin B5, green leaf extract and grape extract. You can image the wipes have a great smell to them. They don't irritate my skin and 1 wipe always gets the job done for me. Love! Click HERE to check out my full review on this product.

Nail Of The Day: Color Club Best Dressed List

Hey Beauties!

I hope you are all having a great Monday so far. My, where did the weekend go? The weather here in New York was wonderful this weekend. That made my weekend more enjoyable :)

I am currently sporting Color Club's Best Dressed List ($2.99) on my nails. When I saw this gorgeous nude polish, I knew I had to buy it because I don't really have anything like this. Best Dressed List is a gorgeous nude creamy soft beige, with a tiny hint of brown color that is perfect for days when you just want to keep your nails simple and well groomed at the same time. Might I also add this color is very work office-friendly?
I applied 2 coats of this polish and as usual with Color Club polishes this polish applied like a dream, and dried pretty quick too.

What are you all sporting on your nails this week? Let me know in the comments section, I would love to know!

Here is to a great week :)

MAC Give Me Liberty Of London Haul!

Hey Dolls!
As promised here is my mini MAC haul from the Give Me Liberty Of London Collection. Let me start off by saying that the packaging in this collection is adorable! I love the white with the flower and bird prints. So pretty-it looks so classy and chic, love it!
Here are some pictures and swatches for you all (click images to enlarge).

MAC eyeshadow in Birds And Berries

MAC eyeshadow in Birds And Berries Swatch
I purchased an eyeshadow ($14.50) called Birds and Berries which is a Veluxe Pearl. It was the only eyeshadow in the collection that stood out to me. I don't think I have anything quite like it in my eyeshadow collection. Birds and Berries is a gorgeous blue/teal color that is sure to be a great shadow that would compliment all skin tones. The pigmentation is great and I love how this shadow brings out my brown eyes!

MAC Lipstick in Peachstock

MAC Lipstick in Peachstock Swatch
I got a satin lipstick called Peachstock ($14.00) which is a peachy-nude lip color. You all know I am a huge fan of nude lip products, so I had to pick this one up. I do like how it looks on my lips, but I would prefer to wear this lipstick toned down with a nude/neutral gloss applied on top. To me it seems like this lipstick has sort of an orange undertone to it that I am sure would compliment all my tanned beauties out there. Peachstock also feels really nice and smooth on my lips, and does not dry them out. Love!

MAC Tinted Lipglass in Perennial High Style

MAC Tinted Lipglass Perennial High Style Swatch
Next up is Perennial High Style Tinted Lipglass ($14.00). I am so in love with this lipglass that I am thinking of going back to buy another one to have as back-up. This is the most amazing coral/pink gloss I have ever seen in my life. I am surprised that this gloss actually gives color on my lips. My lips have this pretty coral/pink tint that I love. I also love that this gloss goes on so smoothly and is not sticky on the lips. YAY!

MAC Nail Polish in Blue India and Swatch
Lastly, I got the much raved about nail color in Blue India ($12.00). Blue India is a gorgeous creamy blue/gray nail polish that stood out to me. I definitely did not have a color like this in my polish collection and it was the item that I was really looking forward to getting my hands on from this collection. I also want to mention that this was my first ever MAC nail polish and I must say I am impressed. Application with Blue India was super easy, no streaks, no air bubbles, dried pretty fast, and I got a nice even opaque look with 3 thin coats. I am so happy with this nail polish from MAC and I will definitely be trying out more polishes from them in the future.

Overall, I love what I got and I may go back for the blushes. If I suggested getting anything from this collection, it would have to be the Blue India nail polish and the Perennial High Style tinted lipglass. Those two items were the stars of this collection for me.

Did any of you get anything from the new MAC Give Me Liberty Of London Collection? Let me know in the comments section, I would love to know!

Look Of The Day: Soft Blue Berries

TGIF Dolls! We have made it to Friday :) I hope everybody has a fantastic weekend planned ahead. I have been pretty impressed with the weather here in NYC. 2 weeks ago we had a snow storm and now the weather has been great! I am talking upper 60's baby :)

Here is my current look of the day...it consists of another blue eye look, but this time I made it a bit softer. And I wanted a good excuse to try out my new MAC Veluxe Pearl eyeshadow in Birds and Berries from the new MAC Give Me Liberty Of London Collection. Stay on the lookout later today for another post where I show you all what I purchased from MAC's latest collection. Oh, by the way-did you all check out the packaging for the collection? Adorable! I am also wearing a tinted lipglass from the collection as well called Perennial High Style-a gorgeous coral gloss.

Birds and Berries is a blue/teal frosty blue color that really stood out to me at the store. I had to have it! I love this color for a soft eye look. And it does not hurt that it really brings out my brown eyes, as most blue shadows do. if any of you noticed that my brows are a tad lighter-I did bleach them. I wanted to lighten them up a bit since I lightened my hair a tad bit to a dark brown. I love how they turned out! I have also been experimenting and filling in my brows with a dark brown matte eyeshadow from the coastal scents 88 eyeshadow palette. I love how filling in my brows really can make such a difference.

Here are some pictures and products used listed below them. Thank You all for stopping by and I hope you all enjoy!

Look Of The Day: Blue Skies + Nail Of The Day

Hey Dolls!

Long time no post! Thank You for all bearing with me on my lack of postings...but don't fret, I am not going to be gone anytime soon. Makeup Moment is here to stay! How are you all doing? Anything exciting planned for the weekend? It is so yucky here in NYC. It has been raining here all day...but on the bright side the weather has been getting a little warmer-in the 50's. Ahhh, can't you all feel spring arriving? It is such a great feeling to know that this winter weather is almost gone...YAY!

Here is a look of the day I did today. It consists of blue smokey eyes (Again? I know-I am suffering a lack of makeup inspiration...any ideas on what my next look of the day should be? Please leave me your ideas and suggestions in the comments section-Thanks!). I have been really into blues lately and I can't seem to be getting enough LOL! I paired the blue eyes with a coral/pink cheek and a nude glossy lip.

Here are some pictures of the look as well as products used listed below (click images to enlarge).

Face:
Bare Minerals Foundation in Light
MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW30
Illamasqua Blush in Hussy
MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Soft And Gentle

Eyes:
1. UDPP in Eden
2. Make Up For Ever eyeshadow in #167 all over lid (iridescent medium blue)
3. NYX eyeshadow in Black applied to the outer V and blend
4. NYX eyeshadow in White applied to the brow bone as a highlight
5. Urban Decay eyeshadow in Peace applied on top of the Milk Jumbo Pencil by NYX
6. NYX eyeshadow in White applied on the inner third of the lower lash line, and the inner corner
7. Stila Smudge Pot in Black used to line the top lids
8. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero applied to the water line
9. Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara applied to top and lower lashes

Lips:
1. MAC Lipstick in Blankety
2. NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Natural

Here is a nail of the day that I had on last week. I finally used the matte teal/green nail polish that I bought in Forever 21 for $2.80. Application-wise, this nail polish applied surprisingly well. I did not get any air bubbles, and it dried pretty quickly. I applied two coats of the polish-I made sure to let it dry in between coats so I can achieve a nice, smooth and air-bubble free application. You all know I had to go on in and add on a Konad image LOL! I used the Konad Special Polish in white and went ahead with a cheetah design from image plate m57. Here are some pictures.

2 coats-no top coat (sorry for messy application, yikes!)

Thank You all so very much for stopping by!

Look Of The Day: Subtle Blue Smokey Eyes with Nude Lip!

Hey Dolls!

TGIF! Is it just me or are the days going faster? We are already in March...before you know it spring is just around the corner :)

This look of the day consists of another smokey eye. I think it is even appropriate for daytime, as it does not appear to dramatic-at least to me. I had just gotten MAC's eyeshadow in Deep Truth and I wanted to see how it would look on for a smokey eye. I Love It! My oh my, I love how Deep Truth brings out my brown eyes-like literally makes then brighter and pop out. I also used MAC's eyeshadow in Ricepaper as a highlight-Love! How did I live without this?
I think I am getting the hang of false lashes. It is not hard to apply like I thought it was. I am strips of false lashes and I had no problem applying them. I just need to work on my timing...because I took my sweet time applying them LOL! But overall, I think they look natural.

Here are some pictures of the look, and products used listed below them. Thank You all for stopping by, and I hope you all enjoy! (Click image to enlarge). Have an awesome weekend :)

Small Haul: MAC, NYX, Forever 21, Illamasqua

Hey Dolls!

I hope you are all doing great! How was your day? Have anything exciting planned for the weekend? My plans for this weekend are to study for a test I have on Monday (boo!), and on Saturday I am going to my sister's place because it is her birthday and we are going to have a family get-together b-day dinner for her :)

I wanted to show you all a little B-day haul. Last weekend I did a little beauty shopping and I am really happy with all my purchases :)

Here are some pictures and swatches will be up soon. If any of you want me to do a review on any of the products you see here, please let me know in the comments section and I will do it! (click images to enlarge)

MAC 188 Duo Fibre Face brush and MAC 217 Blending Brush

I am so happy with these MAC brushes! I love the 217, and now understand all the hype surrounding it. It is the best blending brush in my collection! When I am blending eyeshadows with the 217, there is literally not much effort put into the blending process because it is like the brush automatically does the work for you. And the 188 brush is amazing for applying my blushes and highlighters. That it what I have been using it for lately and I love how the 188 brush softens the intensity of the blush color.

NYX Glitter Mania in Silver, and Love and Beauty (from Forever 21)Matte Nail polish in Green

I am so loving the NYX Glitter Mania for creating fun, glittery eye looks. I must get some more. I may get the gold one next. I apply the NYX glitter wet, using fix+ from MAC and it works really well in applying the glitter on my lids. There was some fall-out of course, but what glitter does not cause fall-out? When I was in Forever 21 I spotted this Matte nail polish and though I have not tried this baby out yet, I am looking forward to it. Stay tuned...I think this will be my next nail of the day color.

Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Hussy

This is my first Illamasqua blush and I am in love! The color is very pigmented so I suggest using a light hand when applying blushes such as these (I use the 188 brush by MAC and I get the perfect application every time). Hussy is a beautiful pink/coral color that is matte. The texture of this blush is very smooth-like butter. It is a beautiful coral color that I imagine would look fab on all skin tones. I am definitely going to be on the lookout for more Illamasqua blushes. Amazing!

MAC Eyeshadows (Left To Right)-Ricepaper and Deep Truth

I love these babies! I have been really into buying MAC eyeshadows lately and I want some more! LOL! Ricepaper is a beautiful frosty cream color that I love using as a highlight on my brow bone, or even as an all-over lid color on days that I am going to school. It really brightens up my eyes too. Deep truth is a gorgeous frosty dark blue color that works fab when doing smokey eye looks.

Left To Right-MAC Lipsticks in Impassioned, Blankety, NYX Lipstick in Chaos

Love these lippies! I stopped by MAC and I had to add another nude lipstick to my nude lipstick collection ( I am having a nude lipstick kick lately) and I chose Blankety, which is a soft pink-beige color. I love Blankety because it is perfect for everyday wear and I can't wait to pair this lippie with smokey eyes :) And of course you all know I had to have my pop of color lipstick so I chose Impassioned-which is a mix between fuchsia and coral together. Impassioned is so much fun to wear and I cant wait to wear it for a night out on the town. Lastly, I got a NYX lipstick in Chaos which is a beautiful red color-I needed a red lipstick in my life. I love this lipstick because it applies so smoothly. All the NYX lip products that I have tried have always applied beautifully on me-never drying. I gotta give it up to NYX for creating lip products that are moisturizing on the lips (at least they are to me). This red lipstick is very pigmented and I cant wait to do a look of the day with it...stay tuned!

Thank you all for stopping by and I hope you all enjoyed this post!
