FTC Regulations Disclosure Plan!
Hey Bellas!
I hope you have all had an amazing weekend!
I wanted to check in with you all and talk a bit about the new FTC (Federal Trade Commission) regulations for endorsements and testimonials in advertising . I am sure you all have heard that starting December 1, 2009 these rules will start to be in effect.
These new regulations require that people disclose weather or not the product they are talking about was part of an advertising/paid endorsement deal with the company, or weather the product was something they bought themselves.
Overall. the goal of this regulation is to stop misleading costumers, and to protect consumers.
I will state that ever since I started writing this blog I don't have contracts with any brands, and I have never been offered to try and review any products. Everything I review, and use I buy with my money and I give my REAL, and HONEST opinions on my findings and feelings on the product that I review. No matter if I love the product, or am not fond of it.
If that day ever comes that a company contacts me, and I do get the opportunity to review and try a product, my views and feelings of the product will be of pure honesty-weather it be good or bad. I will never cheat my readers into buying a product just to benefit that company and myself.
From now on under the end of all of my product and beauty review posts, I will state a disclosure where I will let you all know how I got the product. For example, I will write 'I purchased this product on my own', or ' I got a sample from the company'.
Also, I am not planning to have any type of endorsement deals with any company
